UAE C17 globemaster at Chengdu

We see a JF17 fuselage

Is UAEAF C-17 being used to transport PAF Thunder? Wouldn't have thought they (UAE) would've been interested in buying Thunders. Especially after Pakistan flat-out rejected the Saudis in participating in the War against Yemen. It makes for a curious and interesting photo.

Asif is correct, the Truck Carrying the JF-17B is further away on service/taxi-way road then the parked C-17, Camera illusion makes it seems that truck is parked along side the C-17 , also the truck is following the white vehicle (follow me / escort ) left most side of the picture.

Nope that would be the An-124 Ruslan operated by Volga-Dnepr Ltd. Most heavy (non-US/NATO) cargo is usually delivered via the An-124 Ruslan.

Apparently this unit is going to be used for flypast in March

Seems doubtful since there is still a lot of work to get that unit ready to fly

Unless the fuselage is all wired and ready to go

JF17B flanked by 2 x JF17 with IFR would be a good parade

Still 7 x Mirage squadrons and 5 x F7 squadrons need to be replaced

That’s well over 200 aircraft, if PAC build 16-18 units of Block II in 2018 we still will require another 200 aircraft

If we build 50 x Block III that is still a gap of 150 aircraft by 2021

I seriously hope a Block 4 is in development and 1-2 squadrons of F.C.-31 is purchased

Hopefully all Mirage and F7 are phased out in 10 years

PAF initial order of JF17 is 200 aircraft, at current PAF have inducted +100 ... still 100 to go (BLK - III). However, PAF may pursue for another 50, probably BLK - IV so the gap of 150 aircraft will be filled.

Based on the news around in the PAF circles, they will not pursue for BLK - IV, rather we will see the induction of J10C/Ds (60 - 80 aircraft, maybe 100) in near future.

FC - 31 induction is purely based on IAF acquisition of FAKFA...

Anybody has any idea on the Shooter squadron of F-7PG at Mianwali. It does not have a number. Anybody knows the number? If we include that then yes we have 5 F-7P/PG squadron.
I don't think we need to replace the F-7PG, these are relatively new aircraft with less hours, double delta wings, HUD and a good radar. Our main adversary IAF flies plenty of AC which this bird can shoot down
The only squadron in F series that should be replaced is the F-7P Sharp shooter squadron in Mianwali.

Regarding the mirages Three Squadron:
8th Haiders at Karachi
15th Cobra at Shorkot
22 Ghazis at Karachi

should be replaced as they are the oldest and without ROSE upgrade.

The 3 Upgraded ROSE Mirages are pretty good and should not be replaced in hurry, esp the 25th and 27th , they are really good precision strike platforms

That brings the total to 4 replaceable squadrons and the remaining 100 JF-17 should be able to replace them.

Its being discussed earlier also, F7PGs (60) & Rose II/III Mirages (80 Aircraft - Cruise Missile capable) will not be retired in any near future...in stead they will move to as a dedicated PN air arm (under PAF??).

In next few years PN air arm going to be very capable & skies of Pakistan's SLoC will be well covered with the following;

3Sqdns - F7PGs
4Sqdns - Rose II/III Mirage (Cruise Missile capable)
2Sqdns - JF17Bs (BLK/III - (Cruise Missile capable)
ZDKs (4 AEW Aircraft)
P3Cs (12 MPA Aircraft)
ATRs (02 MPA Aircraft)

OTH, PAF will also be equipped with 4 generation aircraft in next few years;

14Sqdns - JF17s (BLK I/II/III)
05Sqdns - F16s (BLK 40/50MLU & 52)
05Sqdns - J10s (C/D??)
02Sqdns - FC31s (???)
KJ500 (08 AWACS Aircrafts)
Erieye (06 AWACS Aircrats)
