Well guys, now this is looking like the more normal profile of a test program, lots of working and a little flying, would be my guess that they may have encountered F-35 itus, maybe the J-20 does have a few glitches to keep it in the real world of aviation. The J-20 looked to be leading a charmed existance, so maybe now they are doing the normal maintenance and working and tweaking, who knows they may be installing new engines to keep things fresh. May the tea guest will enlighten us as to what is happening?

nah it is just chinese new year period behind us, meaning holidays. there was a 2-3 month hiatus last year, right after the first flight, during this very period. naturally, with 60-70 flights behind us, this hiatus certainly wont last until april, but we may not see any flying until march. i do believe we might see the second j20 take flight very, very shortly though.

I'm sure you are probably right, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to hear they changed out power plants and refreshed some systems and serviced brakes, tires, fluids, and any other consumables as well as going over it with a fine tooth comb. When we did annuals or 100 hrs, we would strip out the interior open up all the panels, change fluids and filters, wash it down and in general make sure everything was ship shape, on aircraft equipped with a nitrogen system to blow down the gear, the customer would do that, and we would service that system, any cracks we would drill a hole to stop the propagation of stress. Every flight has a squack sheet, and maintenance and engineering are downloading data making sure that everything is up to snuff. You have to remember this isn't someone else's rehashed warmed over bird, and I wouldn't be suprised to see two and possibly even three make an appearance.

You gotta have sympathy for the wall climbers, must have been extra tough for them that they are reduced to taking snaps of guards and each other climbing the walls.

Besides, because of regulations and security, those guards probably rely on those wall climbers like the rest of us for their supply of J10B/J20 desktop backgrounds. :p
