Hi ougoah isn’t it possible for China to deploy more SAM batteries with ability to detect stealth planes if they can’t churn out enough stealth planes and offcourse till that time they can stay within their own territory
    Your input please
    Thank you

Why not have both? Having own stealth fighters offers a lot of ability that simply having anti-stealth capable (imaginary?) SAMs that have 100% kill probability will not offer. They are still limited in range and operational terrain and also slow to transport. Developing stealth fighters is as important if not more so than simply having them in the inventory (e.g. simply buying them from another country). I think using that old analogy is best; does having a perfectly operating armour negate the usefulness of a gun? USAF is mostly made up of 4th gen fighters, as is Japan's and India's airforces. Striking important targets using stealth strikers and bombers require a country to develop the basic technology from some starting point and most nations do not have and will not have anti-stealth capable SAMs for quite some time.

Although the video doesn't explicitly mention that the brigade converted to using the J-20:

The quote above states that the "new generation fighter" equipped by the brigade can effectively counter stealth threats and achieve overwhelming advantage against non-stealth fighters. So they've indirectly confirmed that the 9th Air Brigade has converted to the J-20 from Su-30MKK.

Wonder where the Su-30MKKs are going. They aren't to be retired just yet.

Back when Su-30MKK were originally procured and put into service, they were given to regiments that previously used J-7, J-8 and so on. Since such regiments STILL exist, It wouldn't surprise me those hand-me-downs are going to go, once again, to J-7 or J-8 brigades. I certainly don't think those flankers could be given to J-10A brigades, for example, as they wouldn't be as much of an improvement, yet one'd still have to go through a lengthy re-training course for the unit personnel.

They can be used to upgrade brigades that are still using J-8s and J-7s.

IMO they will not convert a new unit with these old birds but rather expand the remaining Su-30MKK brigades with these birds ...
