By the way, in a news conference at the Airshow one journalists asked Yang Wei, "Will the J10B's engine (referring to the TVC engine) be used on the J20 in the future?"

Yang answered:"Your question is will it be used, how do you know it hasn't already been used (on the J20)?"
It was the 2012 prototype according to the credible source. Interesting! Since we have not seen any of picture of it for a long time.

WS10B TVC has been used on J20, confirmed by the chief designer Yang Wei.

For our members who don't speak Chinese, here's a translation of the interaction:

The reporter asks, "Is it possible in the future to equip J-20 with J-10B's (thrust-vectoring) engine, and if so, what kind of impact will the engine have on J-20's performance?"

Mr. Yang Wei, "I'll answer the first part to your question. You asked if it's possible to install the engine (on the J-20) in the future, but how do you know this hasn't already been done?"

Not to be let down by the J10 TVC they pulled some Gs there

But sorry to say J10 TVC stole the show at Zhuhai 2018

Each of these Ladies performed "EXACTLY" as they were expected, the J-10 with OVT is a "show stopper", I'm very, very impressed, we have never seen this type of maneuverability displayed by any Chinese fighter aircraft, "mission accomplished".....

The J-20 is the real "show stopper" here, this is a real airplane, with outstanding performance, and they put on a "hell of a show", if you watch carefully, its very similar to the F-35 "show stopper" at RIAT..... its NOT underpowered, its a very high performance airplane! would more thrust increase its performance, of course it would.....

The J-10 would be a lot of fun, and possibly pull off a win in a "furball" due to its OVT, it is far safer, and more maneuverable post stall, far, far, safer!

The J-20 on the other hand is a step ahead, with L/O, and a very high pitch rate due to its "distant coupled canards", it will turn and burn, but the J-20 is a Flanker sized aircraft, with internal weapons bays, and enough fuel to give it "long legs", it is a very capable fighter aircraft by anyone's standards..

so lets not be distracted by the smoke and mirrors, every got just exactly what we were all waiting on here at Zuhai, its and outstanding international airshow, and these two aircraft performances are indeed, "the icing on the cake", PERFECT!

Yang Wei is definitely messing with the reporter right now.

Speaking of wing condensate. Does anyone remember how MIG-29 used to say that the J-20 isn't maneuverable because it can't generate as much vapors as other planes? I guess even he needs to roll back on that claim now.

I think we now have a full picture of how the J-20's vortex generation system works. From the looks of it the vortex generators work in stages, with each stage progressing at a greater AoA. The first stage is the vortices formed by the LERXes. The second is the vortices formed from the LERXes in conjunction with those formed by the dogtooth created from the leading edge slats dropping. The third is the first two strengthened by the camber of the LERXes in conjunction with the canard downwash. The last is all prior three plus vortical flow formed over the centerline fuselage from the fore body camber over the inlets. The first three work together to form an ever expanding low pressure zone over the wings that gradually encompasses their whole area, while the last one forms a lower pressure area that encompasses the whole top side of the plane including the centerline fuselage and, from the looks of it at least, the canards.

I think we could say J-20 would be the most complex aerodynamic machine in all mass-produced aircraft, maybe just the most complex. It generates vortex like crazy, nose, inlet LERX, canard, main wind LERX, all those complex vortex flow combined, it can only be achieved by a country owns all types of wind tunnels and super-computers.
