Is that a working EOTS with gold tinted transparent looking screen?

2013 and 2015 seem to have been equipped with functional EOIRSTs for a while now. I expect 2011 and 2012 (wherever they may be) have probably been fitted with them as well.

The politicians who are best at defense and foreign affairs don't flap their lips with that much bluster. Joe Manchin's mindset about the J-20 and J-31 is unfortunate, because it perpetuates a dangerous mentality, that the primary threat from espionage is copying, rather than the threat of technological leapfrogging and development of countermeasures. I find it interesting that Clapper and his aide don't directly address the copying allegations. They would know better, of course.

To that point, insisting that what matters is that China "borrows" information to "stay with the competition" assumes that that is all they are doing, or all they could do. For example, the US didn't "borrow" information from the Soviets to "stay with the competition", and I would argue the greater value of "borrowing" data on the F-35 and F-22 isn't in development of a peer, but development of a countermeasure.

and in your next post, you complain that the discussion has become "to ideological", your post here is probably the most "idealogical" in this whole discussion??? is it not?? so lets just be honest, I did not make a personal attack on the intellect of any Chinese person, or their "dangerous" mindset, I was however defending Joe Manchins intellect and intentions, we pay him to ask these questions, and provide for the defense of the United States? I would suggest that if you find these topics uncomfortable, that you quit making them yourself????

I wasn't being ideological. I was pointing out a deep flaw in an argument that had substantive consequence on a discussion about espionage. If it was a Chinese politician accusing America of stealing information for the sake of copying, I would have made the exact same points. *ANY* security discussion involving *ANY* party that expresses the "they're stealing to copy" mindset is dangerous for that party's thinking on national security and defence. That's the point of the argument.
