Jagged nozzles, it seems.

And what is that gap? TVC?
I think the jagged nozzles are from the angle (not sure though since it's pretty easy to just add some jagged edges) and that gap is because they're not done installing it. It looks like a hack job if they just flew it like that.

Could You please give a summary? All I get is a blank site. :( Maybe since it is the mobile-version ??

If you are referring to the link, well that leads to a Chinese forum, where everyone is trying to ascertain the identity of the engines in the photo. Most are unsure whether it's FWS-10B engine or WS-15. What all are in agreement with, is that all previous engines that powered the J-20 prototypes, were AL-31s or some variant of it.

I think with this image showing the first ever WS-10 on a J-20 it is now clearly proven that so far neither any operational J-20 uses a Taihang and that also means that WS-15-theory just crashed like a house of cards.

Why would anyone fit a WS-10 if the WS-15 should be operational "from day one"?

I don't know how many people fully appreciate the cartoon but it translates to "Don't worry; the surgery will be quick, but remember, not too much spicy hot pot for a while!" LOL

We may ... however I also expected to see the J-10B or at least the C powered by WS-10 after we saw 1035 ... after we saw the final two J-10Bs ... but still nothing.
The problem is that the J-10 is a single engine fighter and the WS-10 apparently had some bypass ratio issues (and electronic consumption issues) . But the J-20 is a dual engine fighter, so this issue will not apply.

I think it just means that the J-20 is going to get an engine replacement, with the author adding on tacky phrases. LOL.

Then this is very good news ... :)
Question is this would China put WS10 on J20 if they had reliability issues ? Probably no

So why not have WS10 on J10B/C when they have it on J20?
Once again, the J-10 is a single engine fighter while the J-20 is a dual engine. That's why the Sino-flanker series could use the WS-10 properly while the J-10 could not (going back to that bypass ratio). Regarding the "reliability issue", I believe that was mostly fixed years ago.

Single engine versus twin engine. All twin-engined fighters other than the J-15A have or will have WS-10 series. Even the J-15B/J-15T use WS-10. PLAN is just being extra cautious with the J-15A.

On the other hand, J-10 (and JF-17) are single-engined so the risk factor is much higher. So far there is only one prototype and two in-service J-10B powered by WS-10.
