Raptor does have 4 plumbed hard points for drop tanks. My question is though how much fuel are these J20 fuel tanks packing?

I would suggest they are at least as large as the 600 gal tanks the Raptor carries, so between the 4 tanks 2400 to 2800 US Gals, not sure how that would translate?, that's a lot of fuel if you are high and the power is pulled back for loiter, if you go into full burner, it disappears in a surprising rush...

Depending on your life view? "speed is life" or "speed kills", LOL or we could just state the obvious and say "speed costs!" Ha Ha.

I doubt there is enough tanking in China to fly the missions they will be wanting to fly, so those "drop tanks" are indispensable.

For easy understanding, 1 US gallon = 3.78541 liter (source google). So 600 US gallon would translate into 2271.22 liter per tank. Vow, that would be super large tank! If one aircraft carries 4 tanks, it would be about the useful load weight of that aircraft, no more weapon.

3 IL 78 Tankers. an unknown number of HY6 Tankers. the numbers are likely small for reference the Russians have 19 tankers of the IL78 type I am betting the PLA has atleast that number of HJ6.
The USAF alone has 59 KC10 and 397 KC135 and I am not even mentioning the KC130 versions. but these numbers alone should show the unparalleled tanker ability of the USAF.
