Beautiful photos Deino, you will note he's a little slow, notice the canard has about 10 degrees positive deflection + or -, and the angle of attack indicator/pitot has about 5 degrees negative deflection, the AOA indicator is aligned with the relative wind, and the canard is attemping to pitch the aircraft nose up, but due to the relatively low airspeed, prolly 150 to 200 knts IAS, it takes a little more canard deflection!

Again beautiful picture, and very nicely detailed, you can tell by looking how nicely this airplane "fits together" , the EOTAS is obviously a placeholder.

Keep in mind, 7th gen may be intelligent drones - lower cost but lethal. We have to address the ridiculous cost of weapons before the 7 gen mortgaged the future of the next generation.

Nobody has even come close to imagining what real capability a six gen might actually bring to the table, so talk of a 7 gen is pure fiction at this stage? China is working very hard to bring the J-20 into the 5th generation in a meaningful way, so talk of autonomous drones is just kinda non-sense honestly.

Just as the head of ACC was talking about upgrading existing airframes and capabilities, that is where the real vision is needed right now, bringing in a 5+ to upgrade Raptor and ThunderHogge II capabilities, and the Chinese are seriously trying to "flesh out" the "operational" capabilities of the J-20, why the EOTAS is still occupied by a non-functional "place-holder", NONE of this is easy, NOR is it cheap??? just not gonna be???

AFB !!! Why so much scepticism ? These numbers are real in the same way the Chinese Su-35 are real.

Deino ;)

I'm not skeptical here boss, the pic looked a little "different", I'm just not quite up to speed like you are, so I was just asking an honest question??? I have no doubts about the very fine J-20,,,,, that Russian bird on the other hand???? I'm just waiting to see the real deal, bits and pieces are fine most of the time, and please don't take it personally??? I trust you and your gut, my "baloney meter" just keeps going off??

I'm 60 going on ????, so you may have to tell me more than once???? my old Air Force Lt. Col. Daddy used to harp at me?? "don't believe ANYTHING you hear??? and only 1/2 of what you see???"

So bowing deeply to you my be-loved younger brother,,, have patience with the old Brat?

I am here to get "edumacated" as the Hillbilly's say??

What a minute... I'm confused. First I thought you were being sarcastic and the number was simply a PS. Then I remembered that you had accepted the Chinese Su-35 as real. So is the number on the J-20 real or PSed?

They're real. The serial number was released weeks ago with pictures as evidence. The photographer simply delayed releasing this photo and saved it for the 6th anniversary of J-20's first flight.

Sorry for the confusion: both are real and esp. the 7827x-serials on the J-20S; by now we have so many different images - including 3 different birds #21, #22 and #24, so that I have no doubts any more that they are real.

Concerning the Su-35 I'm now - after some long internal struggles - also sure that they are real. The only concern I still have is their off-standard serial number, which seems to be in the range of 13x3x.

What is that opening just past the nose cone where there is a patch of brown?

Are you talking about the pentagon shaped hole?

That is probably one of the 360 degree EO PDS apertures on J-20, similar in physical configuration to F-35's EO DAS
