Nah, I believe that is a halo or an aura released by the J-20. Since the J-20 has the spirit of a bird, its aura has the shape of a bird... The aura is only visible at certain angle and to certain lucky people (like us at the SDF).

I am more confident that as I said so many times before, we will not see the traditional big painted serial numbers any more. I am willing to propose or suggest that they use some bar code inside the landing bay door to identify individual aircraft for maintenance purpose.

Good point !!! But if CAC uses a similar pattern to the J-10-series - and I'm sure they will - then this number is not a serial-number in the way I'm looking for - aka the typical 5-digit serial numbers used in an operational regiment - but more a construction number.

Not to crash your wonderful moment here but it could've been an image rotated by ~90 degrees.
You guys have to read the Chinese more carefully. The original blog, which was mine, clearly said those are construction number, which might suggest the 00 batch 11th aircraft.
