It is peculiar that we haven't seen any more J-15s produced for some time. Of course, maybe they have been produced and simply not shown. Considering Carrier 17 is going to be commissioned soon, it really would make sense that at least some have been produced by now. But if they haven't been produced, one of more plausible explanations is that J-15 handing over is being postponed, while all subsystems are ready. And a new engine might certainly be one of those subsystems.

J16 has been going ramping up
It is also a question of how many design teams does Shenyang really have. They have the J-11D, J-16, and the J-15 designs. The original J-15 chief designer died. So who is going to be the next head of the naval fighter design team? How many production resources can they dedicate to it, etc. Also, like asif said, they are busy building J-16s. Some claim 80 J-16s will be built until the end of this year. With 60 J-16s already reported to have been spotted thus far. If we assume they will be using the J-16 to replace the JH-7 they might build like 250 J-16s total. That's several years of manufacturing capacity being used just there.
Between the reported new engine developments in China proper and the acquisition of the Su-35 a lot of the Flanker derived programs might have been reevaluated. An ex-chief designer of Chengdu was also promoted to be AVIC executive recently.
So who knows? As far as we know they might even be planning for the CV-16 refit to be longer than we currently expect. This means they might actually share the original airwing between both carriers for all we know about it. We also know there was a stealth fighter program competition and that the FC-31 either lost, or didn't win the competition. So where is the FC-31 competitor design? I even remember claims that China intended to develop a VTOL fighter (which is inane IMHO). There were so many rumours going around that I think it's better to just wait until next year or whatever when CV-17 is operational to see what will happen. Unless there are more leaks in the meantime.

So based on those facts indeed WS10 H is on the verge of production
Nope. The program chief of the J-15 program (Luo Yang/罗阳) passed away, not the chief designer (Sun Cong/孙聪). Different person.

I think you may be confused. No one here was being a fanboy. Just you claiming WS-10H has been reported for eight years, which is untrue (J-15s, even prototypes testing off landbased platforms weren't even around back then iirc). Apart from that the discussion on WS-10H was raised because it seemed like there were some news about it. People were just sharing and discussing that news. So what's so fanboy and unwarranted about that?
