So China never selected a trainer for carrier pilot training ?

What happened to those “potential” carrier trainers

That is indeed a very pretty airplane, and due to its nice wing and fuse shaping should have lots of lift,,, but having said that, how will it do flying off the ramp??

To my knowledge, (admittedly spotty), I don't know that anyone has flown a light fixed wing aircraft in that thrust range off a ramp???

I'm sure it will be a stand alongside trainer to the J-15, but I'm not sure it will operate off the boat? I don't see a hook?

This means they no longer hire carrier pilots from PLAAF. Instead the new carrier pilots will be trained through the PLAN aviation pipeline.

L15 is used to train naval pilots, some of which will become carrier pilots in the future. This does not necessarily mean L15 will be used in carrier training. If they show the tailhook in the future, we will know.
