Looks like the crew and pilots for cv17 has already been training on Liaoning

Good catch! If the numbers 207 and 208 indeed represent serial numbers, then it confirms that the third batch of J-15s are already in production. The biggest question would be whether these birds are the old J-15A variant or the much-awaited J-15B with AESA.

I did not notice that the frame of the middle canopy of J - 15 S is behind the general double seat flanker. Moreover, it seems that the new type fleet special aircraft developed based on J - 15S will be doing the first flight soon.

what is the difference between the yellow one with the original J15S?

One is frame only the other is special purpose plane it could be AEW, could be wild weasel, land attack aircraft . the extra person wil enable it do to more allowing the pilot to concentrate of the piloting

but I can’t see those in the picture?I mean I can’t tell the difference at all.

Another option might be these numbers are reserved for helicopters, however an argument against helicopters could be that it is unlikely that the LSOs grade landing performance of helicopters.

So IMO it has either a meaning we don't know so far - just as the #126 last year - or there are indeed more J-15s out and operational to prepare the pilots for the Type 002.

Also, given that we also completely lost track of the J-10C and J-20 production it is however not unlikely, that SAC indeed produced already a Batch 03, but I don't think that this batch will already be of the much revised J-15B.

There are a few possibilities...

1. These numbers are currently "imaginary" and are assigned to existing batch 2 J-15s just so that the new pilots can be distinguished from other airwing crews

2. The new 2XX-numbered J-15s are simply a re-run of the old J-15A (but why the delay between the second and third batches?)

3. New 2XX-numbered J-15s are an interim: likely fitted with AESA but not the full CATOBAR capabilities of the J-15B

4. These are new J-15Bs but SAC has done a good job keeping them from prying public eyes

Do we really have serial 126?

This doesn’t make sense from production schedules and whole load of other reasons

Also there’s no hiding aircraft serials on the carrier PLAN has been pretty open none of them are 2xx

Then why 2xx on the board ?

We need clarity where is bdpopeye ??

May be, that this are numbers for aircraft that fly pattern and approaches but do not land, because they are not able to land on an aircraft carrier. May be doubleseaters to familiarize new pilots or aircraft with different speeds as AEW etc. to train the traffic controlers. Many reasons thinkable wo will never know.
