BTW, circumnavigate does not work if the Violent weather is suddenly developing in the vicinity and approaching fast.
On every carrier is meteorological personal on board to observe the weather and give warnings and alternative routings if storms develop.

A tunderstorm is more powerfull than an atomic bomb. Remember Admiral Halsey, who could not accept the rule and lost three destroyers in one single storm without enemy action.

Thus, one try to minimize and prioritize the number of Aircrafts on the top deck and store as many aircraft as possible below deck to protect them from Salty seawater. ... ...Right ?
Right. So a carrier in the northern Atlantic may have less aircraft on board than a carrier in the Gulf region.

I imagine ... ... Under sufficiently violent weather environment, ... ...It is critical to land with both Rear Landing Gear touching the AC landing deck at the same time and in the vicinity of the AC center line sailing direction. ... Right ?
Carrier aircraft have "sea legs" - the ability to withstand in an hostile envirement. Look at this

Right. That is why carrier aircraft must be able to withstand a vertical velocity at touch down of 6 m/sec while ordinary aircraft are designed for only 3 m/sec.

Actually USN CVN have a division of weatherpersons known a

True, and why carrier aircraft are "life limited to X number of traps, once an aircraft "banks" that number of traps, it is no longer carrier qualified, but is limited to land basing. Every trap is hard on an aircraft, where-as operating from a land base the aircraft is allowed to "float onto the runway", that S-2 is about to be "yanked from the sky"? if you did a little research you would find a file on landing gear failures aboard ship, in the propeller age, with wooden decks, it could get very ugly. LOL

very pretty airplanes, and yes they do fly well, one of the reasons that PAK-FA is the prettiest of the 5th gen aircraft, follows that very slender "Flanker" design mojo. I liked the Mig-29, I loooovvve the Flanker, as pretty as an F-15, yet "curvier", and smooth!
