Total number of J10A,B,C,S is around 450? China need to raise substantially the production rate of J11B, J10, J16, J15,J20 with the background of deteroriating security environment.
The Chinese army seems to have asked Chengdu to increase the delivery rate of the J-10 (C & S?) From 2018. That of the sub-assembly chain has already increased by 10% compared to the beginning of year 2017.

In light of recent exercise results, I think they should cut down on J-11B/J-10 production and increase J-20/J-16 production.
I think that expanding J-11 and J-10 production would not be exclusionary to ramping up stealth fighter production. Capacity that’s expanded to produce more of the former is also capacity that can be utilized for production of the latter. Right now it’s that general run rate and overall industrial capacity, not specific air frame type, that is the biggest hurdle to matching the force balance needed in a tenser security environment.

At the end of the day, a suitable number would be around 1100 J-10s, 500 J-11s & J-16s altogether. This would give China a sustained ability to fight war.
