You really don't need that many third generation planes. The current SAM's are so good the likes of S300, HQ9, patriots will easily shoot down 90% of third gen planes. Waste of money.

You build up such large fleet and it's like all dressed up and have nowhere to go.

No idea if this particular photo (video snapshot) is genuine. But J10-B is openly displayed with YJ-91 on the ground.

What wingtip hardpoints? Those missiles are clearly handing on the outermost pylon, same as those pictures of J10Bs on the ground.

You can even see the safely lights on the actual wing tips illuminated.
