we can't know if the maws is uv, can we? for all we know, this may be a new maws system. one logical explanation for temporary lack on maws on new planes would be a hiatus in delivery, to be installed later on finished planes. and hiatus in delivery could be explaned by a new production process/new variant of equipment etc.

? Why reference Eurofighter, out of interest, and not Rafale, or Gripen? (Or J-10? ;) )

How do you know that this is a J-10C (is it the extra dorsal communications antenna)?

Yes, there are two additional antennae on production J-10Cs compared to J-10Bs.

Though I wonder if it was CAC that put up "10.1" reference to national day on the tail or if it PSed on...

Just the semblance brought about by the silhouette.

I doubt CAC would change the serial number just for the sake of a national holiday (it's not like there is a public exhibition). Some recent J-20 photos also had "10.1" PSed onto the airframe.

But the silhouette also resembles Rafale, Gripen... and of course the J-10 itself?

I'm just kind of amused by the choice to mention Eurofighter as if it's meant to be the quintessential or most glamorous (lol?) of the canard delta fighters?

Yes, probably.
Either way, that's definitely a J-10C.

?? What makes you think that?

The reference was made in light of what the silhouette alludes to. The Eurofighter shares the under-chin intake, so it definitely has some moieties found on the J-10.

Sure, but the position of the canards and the geometry of the tail are way different... and more resembling Rafale than Typhoon.

But that's alright, I was just interested why you chose Typhoon out of the choices to compare to... if it's because you thought that angle of the photo made it resemble Typhoon, then okay.
