But the modernization will not be a luxury :) and this pitiful deplyment with fighters in land bases, 2 lost damn !
But the brutal reality is that war is never about loosing less weapons or even lives, nor about showing shining weapons. War is about to destroy enemies.

Hitler had more shining weapons than Soviet Union, see where he ended up?

Napoleon was a genius and his army was better trained and equipped than the Russians, see where he ended up? P.S. I love Napoleon for many things, but he lost his war and I am not surprised.

So I don't see what your sarcasm could demonstrate.

well, you pointed out something obvious (that Russian weapons are not in a good shape which is a fact that all of us here in this forum already know). The "point out the obvious" lead me wondered what else you were trying to convey considering your other posts' pattern. Maybe I am wrong this time?;)

The jihadist-held Idlib province has descended into further chaos as the inter-jihadist war that has waged across the area intensifies.

Clashes have erupted between the terrorist groups of Ahrar Al-Sham and Tahrir Al-Sham in Saraqib, Idlib countryside after one of Ahrar Al-Sham regiments announced they defected and joined Tahrir Al-Sham.

The faction that defected

as they manufactured weapons.

Another fanction of Ahrar Al-Sham tried to prevent this regiment from taking any weapons or ammunition with them during the defection. This led to clashes between the two rival factions, as well as other Tahrir Al-Sham fighters in the area.

So far there have been only reports of a couple of injuries and each side arrested some of the opposing group members. Militants in Idlib are known to downplay the severity of the infighting because of the embarrassment that a supposed liberated area of Syria has descended into chaos.

in the eastern Aleppo countryside after the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) completed a blitz offensive against ISIS fighters in the region.

Effectively, the SAA’s Tiger Forces were able to impose full control over Alisah, Zaaraya, Am Talatel, Umm Al-Amad, Barleen, Abu Tawil, Rahmaniyah, Umm Miyal, and As Safre on Thursday. These villages have not been under government control since 2012.

In addition, Syrian troops also seized the burial hill known as ‘Tall Zaaraya’, some 11 kilometers northeast of Deir Hafer, the last ISIS-held city in Aleppo province.

Meanwhile, the ‘Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) officially handed over the adjacent village of Abu Al-Khaf after

earlier in the day that will allow the SAA would to seize control a large stretch of Kurdish-held territory west of Manbij.

Due to today’s Tiger Forces offensive, government troops are no more than 20 kilometers from reaching the Euphrates River. From then on, the SAA would be able to launch an offensive towards Raqqa, the Islamic State capital.

"well done", while this post of yours looks very civilized and plain, your separate personal message to me was very insulting which includes words "idiot" and "disgusting". What kind of act is this? Treacherous?
I have reported your PM in turn for "personal insult", check your mail box.

I am done with you.

Okay This is interesting, Just as we have seen the Syrian rebels, IS, AQ, Free Syrian and whoever else and more up armor anything that moves, So to the Syrian Regime has had to counter the proliferation of ATGMs. Now bing big users of Older Soviet Tanks They took losses to The TOW missile systems that the rebels used. remember before the War and even now the T90's are the least numerous tanks in the SAA,The majority are older models like T54, T55, T62, T72 variants. Now the Russians Introduced a active defence system into the T90 to counter optically guided missiles like the TOW or ( "Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided) The Russian Saxhorn-2 (Metis M) and Spandrel missiles, but that system is not compatible with the older Tanks.
So the Syrians were in a bit of a Jam. Fortunately for them it seems The Rebels are such a hodge podge that Syrian intelligence bought some of those Tow missiles from the Rebels and then reverse engineered their own Soft kill system Sarab-1. It apparently uses a IR LED to try and spoof the shooter into missing the tank.
Have to admire the ingenuity. Of course this likely means that in coming years similar systems will be reverse engineered by lesser nation states with some degree of indigenous military industry like Iran and North Korea as the Syrian regime is in no position to mass produce such systems without help or that data getting passed on.

Syria has no reason to keep any information on these matters back from its friends Iran, Russia, China.
