According to press reports at the time Al Baghdadi was a (model)prisoner and was released without incident in fact he was thought to be somebody we could work with but I remember Ho ChiMen was originally a ally of ours too hope I spelled everything correctly
This was reported by CNN

Over the last 72 hours in the Homs Governorate’s eastern countryside, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party300px-Logo_of_the_Syrian_Social_Nationalist_Party.svg copy.png(SSNP) – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Sadad and the Assyrian “Gozarto Protection Forces” (Sootooro) – have recaptured several sites from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) after the aforementioned terrorist group attempted to advance towards the large Syriac Christian city of Sadad on Thursday.

The SSNP and their allies were able to break-through ISIS’ frontline positions at Hawareen and Al-Hadath on Friday, seizing these two villages after a series of intense firefights that resulted in the Syrian Armed Forces advancing towards the Maheen Mountains (Jabal Maheen) in this vast desert area of eastern Syria.

Following the capture of Hawareen and Al-Hadath, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party and their allies advanced to Tal Daher and the Maheen Mountains, where they were confronted by a large force from ISIS; however, the terrorist group was unable to forestall their progress and as a result, the pro-government forces imposed full control over these two rugged sites.

With Tal Daher (small hilltop) and the Maheen Mountains under their control, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party and their allies have positioned themselves for a full-scale assault on the strategic town of Maheen’s southern and northern flanks.

If the Syrian Social Nationalist Party and their allies recapture Maheen from ISIS, they will be in position to launch a large assault on the large Syriac Christian city of Quraytayn; this aforementioned city was captured by the terrorist group in early August of this year.

French CVN Now Operational Off Syria to be Joined by FREMM Frigates & SF ECUME for 1st Time
1hPHX6e.jpg

The French Navy (Marine Nationale) nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and its Carrier Strike Group reached the area of operation in the Eastern Mediterranean today and is now fully operational. According to the French Navy two FREMMs, the latest addition to the fleet, will join the CSG. These new generation frigates built by DCNS bring in new capabilities such as land attack cruise missiles and special forces support.
...
In addition to the FREMM, this is the first operational deployment for the ECUME. ECUME is the new RHIB of the French Navy Special Forces (the famous Commandos Marine). At least one ECUME RHIB will be deployed on board Aquitaine and Provence frigates.

"amazing" of how much care was taken to not to hurt "innocent" or to avoid collateral damage. Who is ISIS really? No wonder the year long airstrike never worked.
