What do other sources say?
They've still, got a ways to go.They're just approaching Deir Hafer, now.

Note: The five village names I underlined are from the list of villages from which FSA, two days ago, gave YPG/SDF 48 hours to withdraw. Guess they didn't get the message!

So Kurds are advancing, right? That is what I understood from the report but you are saying the opposite???

STOP the ideological/political bickering and back and forth.

STOP finding oped posts to back your own points of view.

STOP the personal anti-(you name the side) postings, rants, and opinions on this Thread.

POST factual, military related occurrences associated with the crisis. Musing with respect to the purely military movements, equipment, strategies, etc. is fine if you leave all of the accusations, politics, ideology and rhetoric out of it.

THREAD CLSOED FOR 24 hours to cool down and consider.

DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS MODERATION

...and do not take the same arguments/postings/rhetoric elsewhere here on SD. What you do away from SD is your affair.

Re-opened.

Keep it between the lines. In other words...observe the directions/moderation given above.

Proceeding:

We are really getting to see the Russian Air Force in action over Syria like it has rarely been seen.

For the Russians, they are supporting one of their principal allies, and they are showing the world that they have their precision weaponry and capabilities too.

For the US and the west, it is an opportunity to get very, very good intelligence on these aircraft in a way that they seldom have the opportunity to do. I mean, US AEW and AWACS aircraft are up in the air in the relative near vicinity, as well as other coalition aircraft.

Here are pics of the SU-24, SU-25, SU-34, Tu-22M and Tu-160s (with SU-30s escorting) in action:
