I kind of try to follow the Navies of the Caspian Sea (which is a lake :)
Here are the pictures of a corvette bigger than Buyan-class launching the X-35:

... but now I'm late; the video
the description says fours ships launched 26 missiles against 11 targets, which were all hit (CEP 3 m)

I've been watching them ... for example:
Sep 15, 2015

found this (but it's not directly related, talks about the most recent "impromptu" exercise, also including AAW; pictures inside):

the line of battle looks formidable :) despite the Buyans displace just about one thousand tons:

... the flagship was the Dagestan (693); it's Project 11661 (its derivative are "Gepards" in service with the Vietnamese Navy), about 1500 tons displacing:

the other ships were of Project 21631 ("Buyans-M"), about 1000 tons displacing:
  • the Grad Sviyazsk 021
  • the Uglich 022
  • the Velikyi Ustyug 023

Missiles were probably 3M-14T (you might know them under the name "Klub"), launched from "Kalibr NK" VLS (shown below on a Project 20380 ship which is not in the Caspian Sea):

BBC Radio 4 news has just called the missiles fired from the Caspian Sea cruise missiles. Which Russian ships in that sea carry cruise missiles?
I found it at RT:

Four warships of the Caspian fleet were involved in the missile attacks, the Gepard-class frigate Dagestan and the Buyan-M-class corvettes Grad Sviyazhsk, Uglich and Veliky Ustyug. They fired cruise missiles from the Kalibr NK (Klub) VLS launchers. The missiles used are capable of hitting a target within 3 meters at a range of up to 2,500 km.

Most likely 3M-54T version of Klub missile (also known as Kalibr) , NATO designation SS-N-30A . Subsonic cruise missile with significant range ( over 1500 km) . Of course, targets in Syria could have been hit with cheaper weapons from air, but by using cruise missile Russia achieved 3 things

- New missiles were operationally tested in real combat
- Free advertising which could boost sales of said missile ( export missile has range of only 300km to comply with treaties, yet it could be interesting to certain countries )
- Display of power, as long range precise missile strikes were almost exclusively Western thing so far.

I can only think of
  1. the Tatarstan 691 (not used today)
  2. the Dagestan 693
  3. the Grad Sviyazsk 021
  4. the Uglich 022
  5. the Velikyi Ustyug 023
EDIT
OK, theoretically it could be two more Buyans-M:
  • the Zelyony Don 602
  • the Serpukhov 603
but that's a stretch :)

Did I miss something?
