Funny I was over at an Asian market a couple of hours ago and a bookstore there had a flyer of Jiang Zemin posted on the window. I thought that was weird. I couldn't read what it said. Then I come home and see Jiang maybe dead rumors on CNN.

Just out of curiosity was it a Falun Gong flyer? It is the only group of people on the face of the planet that still cares about Jiang.

The news, if true, is heavily censored. I personally think that he might be gravely ill but not dead. There is a very good chance that he might recoup.

Well I thought it was weird because I've never seen anything political that I know of happening over at this market before. There have been police car chasing drug dealers and crashing into the restaurant and a fugitive wanted on TV ended up spotted and shot in the frozen food section of the supermarket there but nothing political I know of.

I don't know then. If you still have the pamphlet maybe you can update a copy? If it has political propaganda on it we can remove it.

All we can do at this point is just wait and see.

It is true (of what you said, that only &&& cares about this).

I heard this rumor yesterday, and made a little search - it turns out the only source you can trace, is those Falun Gong jokers'.

No doubt Jiang was ill, but his death is more a "wish" of some bunch of jokers than an actual fact - not to mention any Chinese language source you can find, all talks about "retribution" more than facts, a typical Falun cult and / or "democratics" stereotype.

actually during a news round-up last night in one of major local tv stations in Hong Kong, owned by a nephew of Jiang, broke the news that Jiang has passed away. This was followed by headlines in all the local newspaper this monring. But so far, there has been no official confirmation.

Interesting piece of info. If Jiang's nephew is in charge then he might know something we don't. Let's wait and find out.

It's not a challenge -

when people says, "My father is Li Gang" these days, dosen't really means the guy is actually Li Gang's son...

I just wandering, when you said "Jiang's nephew", you actually confirms that's the real deal? or it's just "people telling people" folk lore process, that the guy owning a tv station is a guy "with powerful background", but not necessary to be exactly Jiang's nephew?

Just wandering, not a challenge.

that's what the newspaper said. If you read Chinese, below is what the paper actually said:

On the other hand, a new development from CNN which came in about an hour ago says that Xinhua (the official news agency) says that this piece of news is just rumours.

Who to believe?
