Iran's New Stealth Fighter

There were a lot of pics I didn't post because again it was late. Here's one of the cockpit. I think you can tell it's just a mock up from the cockpit. But I give the Iranians kudos for an interesting design.

Here I think AP posted the wrong pic.

I don't understand farsi but I wish I do because now that they have released an image of the cockpit it's 100% certain this is a mockup instead of 99%. I hope no one on that video claimed it to be real because if you do then why release a picture which proved otherwise? anyone who are even slightly familiar with fighters and aircraft design would debunk it in an instant w/o a doubt.
Maybe it's a design study or smaller scale mockup of their next gen fighter etc. In that case than ok I give them some credibility but if they claimed (lied) that is an actual flying prototype than it's ROFL all the way.

Real or not, but you gotta hand it the Iranians for at least developing a stealth plane program for it on their own, considering the many embargo and sanctions they're facing today. Persians and Arabs are smart people lets not underestimate their ability is what I'm saying. I do like the design shape of the Qaher-313 though. Perhaps this plane will give David Axe something else to bash about.:p

Well it fools a lot of people, most people actually

I've been making rounds to Iranians forum, and... feels like i'm walking into a room of orgy party and ankle deep in white sticky... errr... substance

LOL...can't blame them for getting excited! ;) There's not too many positive media news about Iran for a long time.

even that is giving too much credit for them, this is just propaganda

if it is an engineering effort, it will be like a toddler with a spoon and his baby food

it is to be applauded if it's a real and honest effort

but boy, do i hate a cheap lie

Well lets wait and see if it flies first before dissing it.

I can also add the following things:

The position of the cockpit and size of the nose indicates that either no or a very small radar set could be carried.
- Result: Probable no BVR capability

The air intakes are in an unusual position and would be masked by the airframe in some flight regimes; something the pilot might not approve of.
- Result: Engine possibly being starved of air under certain flight regimes

The various angles do not seem to line up: this is one of the key marks of any "real" stealth airplane, all angles are aligned to control the direction of radar returns.
- Result: It's not a stealth fighter; it have SOME low observable features, but that's about it.
