Iran's New Stealth Fighter

I wish that China had smuggle their sole J-31 prototype to Iran and let the Iranian's claim it as their own. When that plane takes to the sky the American's and Israeli's will go mad. ;) Unless they know about the smuggle. :(

Look that's one piece canopy there which makes it superior than the J-31 already! :D:D

What a joke of a mockup!

The petite size of the Qaher-313 (points to lack of internal stores or the utter absesne of it.); lack of HUD and/or HMD; no projection of payload, operation radius or any performance ratings; all points to a concept-vertification rig even if it flies.

And more importantly, what kind of engine those Mullahs gonna use for the Qaher-313? They did showcased stuff like that "twin-tailed F-5" and their abilities to keep their F-14s operational, but nothing indicate they've made any effort in locally R&D and produce modern jet engines. If it's to "compete with the F-22" as the popaganda claims first they need engines that give them supercruise capability, with high thrust-to-weight ratio and fuel economy.

It doesn't look like a real fighter aircraft to me. The size is too small which I doubt if it can fly 300km.The "W" wing looks cool, but

for a fighter, the point is not to make it looking cool instead making it effective for air combat.I can hardly see the intake, but the

weaponbay seems to be large enough. My first impression is this could be a technical demo for the Irannians, but still has a long way

to take off from the ground.

In the video, when they spin the plane and you get to look through the open canopy, you can see clear visual distortions caused by the low quality materials and manufacturing techniques used.

Also, during the video, when the guy was giving the interview in front of the plane and it stops spinning just in time to stop the pitot tube poking him on the head, you can see the entire nose bobble about a little because of the sudden stop.

There is no doubt in my mind that this is just a plastic mock up and that the plane seem flying is just a scale model.

I'm done with this silly publicity stunt, I'll take this more seriously when they have a flying prototype, but I'm not holding my breath. I would not be surprised if the whole thing never goes that far because the more I see of this plane, the more flawed and unrealistic it seems.

The entire airframe looks very draggy and the wing loading is going to be horrible. They are going to need an unbelievably powerful engine to make that thing have any sort of reasonable speed, and retro rockets to make it agile (maybe thats what the kinks in the wings are housing :p). The intakes looks like they were designed to serve the same function as Luneburg lenses, and their positioning is going to mean very poor AoA characteristics, as anything remotely high will likely cut airflow to the engines altogether.

The Iranians should have quit while they were ahead and only released the first picture of the face-on profile, as it looked respectable from that one angle. Sometimes less is more.

There were a lot of pics I didn't post because again it was late. Here's one of the cockpit. I think you can tell it's just a mock up from the cockpit. But I give the Iranians kudos for an interesting design.

Here I think AP posted the wrong pic.

That has to be the weakest landing gear I've ever seen...ever..

Single engine?? That equipment in the cockpit looks like the radio out of my old '85 Chrysler I had years ago. No foolin. The one at the peak of the dash board...looks like molded plastic inside the cock pit...C'mon now..jeez...

Well it looks good but seriously it won't fool anyone, with the exception of those Mullahs.
