It might be another 3 months away at the very least of it but by the looks of it, it's a bag of "about bloody time" improvements, what matters most to me is the introduction of Control Center, finally no more access controls without going down 3 layers into settings, without the need of 3rd party apps or jailbreaking. Others are minor or icing on the cake if you ask me - nicer compass, nicer looking weather app...blah blah blah...

I don't give a rat arse about its map, because it'd be a long time before Apple catch up to Google on this one - if you're with Google Earth from its beginning, you'd know how much time and money Google poured into that department.

And I am somewhat disappointed with the newer Photos, which seems to miss the option to arrange by filename...that's sucks if you read mangas on your iPad, unless you're willing to go through the trouble of PDF-ise your collection.

So...that's my gripe so far. What about you guys?

Well, I like the new UI. After all, I almost went for a Lumia 920 because of WP8 interface.

I have no use for this sort of contraption. I mean how much time to you need to be on line? How many phone calls and text messages do you really need to make?

I'd love to transport all you young ens back to 1970..yep.. no cell phone, no PC, No CDs, no MP3, limited cable TV, No Ipad, no video games....no nuthin'... Microwave? those ancient microwaves could scorch your go-nads...

Aside from the Microwave, I'm sure one would only have to hit the 80's. I certainly didn't enjoy most of that for the late 80's and very early 90's.

But regarding connectivity, these things are amazing for business.

T-U-P, since you mention it, I ended up getting a 920. Great phone.

That means you're old...and the NSA got less stuff on you, unlike all the young lads here who use Facebook and Whatsapp for almost all their waking hours...

being online and text messages? a LOT... phone calls? not so much.

I remember back in high school when I first heard a family friend discarded their landline for only a cellphone, I thought how the hell can you not have a landline?!

Hehehe...it was true back then, but now it makes sense, especially to those single household who's time at home are mostly spend on their beds, sleeping. Besides, back then keeping landline has a lot to do with registration-related things, much like bank won't accept a PO Box no. as valid address entry, but now you can have cellphone number as registration record, as long as it isn't those prepaid disposable numbers.

We don't have a landline either. My wife and I each have our cell phones, and we just recently convinced my mother to dump her landline as well.

The only "landline" I've is the fiber optic cable runs into the switcher in my house that I connect my wireless router to, that's the closest analogue I can give you, but landline telephone for personal or hoursehold is really so yesterday these days, because we're now so mobile, and external battery packs so cheap and readily available that can keep our cellphones online indefinitely (at least in theory)...sure, cellphone still has the problem with signal reach, but if and when you're in such a spot, 99% of the time you won't in the position to answer the call anyway.
