India will probably have only 2 by 2012. Having more than 2 will not make any sense whatsoever. I don't see India having all of those support ships necessary for more than two carrier groups.

We know the Harriers saw a MLU so the question is can they serve on the Vicky (Gorky) after 2012 when Viraat is dicommisioned?

that's an interesting point. China has definitely focused on building a lot of support and transport ships in the past few years as well as the advanced DDGs.

Also, there should be no more "052C"s, but more "052D"s. They are going to start building more, that's for sure.

India wants 3 I believe. 3 carriers is the minimum requirement if you want to have a carrier on station all the time. 1 for deplyment, 1 for training/refitting, and 1 for drydock and overhaul. That is the carrier cycle for the RN anyway.
