So the government is attempting to introduce curriculum that was supposed to provide students more understanding of China, but the nature of the materials had provoked the greatest uproar since July 1, 2003. The material was blasted for being biased and non-critical, overly nationalistic and one-sided. Further looks into the material also included lack of representation of other minorities and ethnicity. Despite the huge uproar, the HK government, particularly under CY Leung, is attempting to push further with the agenda. So far not only a huge population of both students, civil servants, teachers, parents had come out to protest, but some even went on to conduct hunger strike.
What do you guys think?
