I would also like to add that some of you are not being very fair to Chinese from Vietnam. They are people who suffered very greatly just because they are Chinese. Many of them are very proud of their heritage. Looking down at a Chinese person due to their national origin is just as bad as HK people who look down on Mainlanders, even if you do not agree with their opinions. Of course, this does not apply to those who say they are not Chinese (which many of the rioters say)
The reason I post this is because these riots tick me off personally. Over and over again I am reading in the Western Media about Fujianese being Triads and gangsters. These outlets spew out this despicable garbage and then turn around and criticize Trump for calling Mexicans rapists and criminals (as pointed out earlier in this thread). I myself am born and raised in Canada, but have family connections to North Point, and just because the neighbourhood is proud to be part of China, it is constantly portrayed like some kind of enemy territory.
