I would also like to add that some of you are not being very fair to Chinese from Vietnam. They are people who suffered very greatly just because they are Chinese. Many of them are very proud of their heritage. Looking down at a Chinese person due to their national origin is just as bad as HK people who look down on Mainlanders, even if you do not agree with their opinions. Of course, this does not apply to those who say they are not Chinese (which many of the rioters say)

The reason I post this is because these riots tick me off personally. Over and over again I am reading in the Western Media about Fujianese being Triads and gangsters. These outlets spew out this despicable garbage and then turn around and criticize Trump for calling Mexicans rapists and criminals (as pointed out earlier in this thread). I myself am born and raised in Canada, but have family connections to North Point, and just because the neighbourhood is proud to be part of China, it is constantly portrayed like some kind of enemy territory.

Peaceful citizens of HK are simply Chinese, regardless of their origin.

However, for those violent protestors, we can divide them into two camps. Those who are native Chinese are traitors, while those who are descendants of refugees or hold foreign citizenships are foreign insurgents.

The former need to be prosecuted under treason laws. The latter need to be captured as enemy combatants.

That's just my opinion of course. The Chinese government will obviously treat them all according to their legal citizenship.

Face of traitors, watch before it is taken down.

How can you be so certain that this was written by a HK protester rather than a Chinese citizen? What does the text say?

We don't...... at the moment, but as Manqiang said, it really doesn't matter. What matters is that there is someone inside China proper dared to graffiti at best, at worse, incite revolutionary actions from within!

It says, "Guangzhou independence, Hong Kong add oil."

Add oil its roughly equivalent to "come on" or "go, go" its a cheering on jesture.

Radicals slammed for acts of violence

A government spokesman has strongly condemned radical protesters' violent and vandalistic acts in Tuen Mun and other districts.

"Some people assaulted a police officer on duty and even attempted to snatch his revolver, while some people maliciously trampled and burned a national flag, challenging the national sovereignty, " a government statement read.

Their acts completely disregarded law and order and police would take law enforcement actions against illegal activities resolutely to protect people's safety and restore public order, it said.

And with that, we are closing our blog for the night. There are still a small number of people on the streets in Yuen Long and near Mong Kok Police Station but the situation is generally quiet.
