The Build - Building and completeing HMS Dragon, D35 - April 20, 2015
Well, here it is two years later and after gpoing through and completing the carriers and intial escorts for each CSG, I have come back to complete the final escorts for each. In this case that meant completing another Airfix Type 45, Daring Class destroyer in 1/350 scale. I will let the reader look at the pictures for the build of , which I completed in 2013 to understand how I went about it, because it was exactly the same...including the White Ensign Model (WEM) after market metal photo etch set for the model which I had purchased.
I did the Dragon because I simply had to make use of that neat Dragon graphic they painted on the bow of the ship for commissioning.
My model also included the harpoon missiles (which at long last are being fit to four of the vessels), along with all of the other weapons systems. I show this ship all buttoned up (ships launch decks and hanger closed).
