I like any sort of Asian food except Thai..too spicy for me. My favorite is Japanese.

Unfortunately you can't get good Asian food in the wasteland for restaurants which is Iowa.

Which city has the best Chinese food, Toronto or Vancouver?

I've been to Vancouver once, but stayed mainly downtown, and that was back in 2003.

New Jersey also has some really authentic Chinese restaurants, better than even Toronto restaurants. NY (Flushing, Queens) also has some really great xiaolongbao places.

San Diego has really good authentic Filipino and Mexican restaurants. Japanese and Chinese food in san Diego is very good also.

Never been to TO, but Van has authentic HK style cafe and yum cha, Shanghainese food, Beijing, and Sichuan. I think I will go back to that Sichuanese food to try again to see how authentic are they, since I've been to Chengdu lately.

Which Sichuanese places?
Btw, Richmond sushi is for white people, Asians don't go there.

Vancouver has pretty good food overall, arguably the best selection of Asian restaurants in North America, however I wouldn't say they represent true Chinese cuisine.

Chinese culinary arts is defined by innovation, in China there are a lot more stuff on the menu, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. In the real good restaurants I can simply tell the waiter what raw material I want in my dish and how to cook it, the rest is up to the chef. The anticipation is part of the dining experience, and sometimes I will find a dish I just had to keep returning to.

And I'd add to what you've said: strange enough, but part of the art of eating in mainland China will be all the weird street food that they have to offer and stuffs you normally won't eat. It's indeed a true delicacy if you find a way to get around that psychological component first.

For Chinese food, i would say definitely Vancouver. Richmond in particular has some of the best Chinese food restaurants in Canada since competition for customers there is fierce.
