HJ-10 anti tank missile

according to august issue of kanwa.there are two version of HJ-10,one land based ,other,carry by attack helos.
land based version ,HJ-10 is carry 4x4 truck,the entire launcher,is mounted on hydraulic crane. to take advantage of her range,the missile possess top attack capability,but the magazine do not provide further detail,like ,is the missile attack profile similiar to top attack TOW-2B.

That's a disappointment. One would think that since the HJ-9 is already in the class of the TOW, the HJ-10 would be something different. Maybe something that is portable with top-attack capability for the individual infantryman, similar to the Javelin.

Where did challenge say the HJ-10 was like the TOW? And from what I've heard isn't the HJ-10 supposed to be an equivalent to the hellfire?

i guess i misread the OP. now that you mentioned it, i do remember seeing a picture of a missile purported to be the HJ-10 being fired from a test rig mounted on a crane on the back of a truck.

What??? How in the world could a tank gun possibly shoot down an antitank missile? Richard, your penchance for unsubstantiated hyperbole surprises me time and again.

I think the Sagger ATGM has similar max range (~3km) as the M256 120 mm gun. So the Sagger firing team or vehicle must be exposed to within the M1A1's gun range to engage the target.

Newer ATGM's have 5km-10+km range and will out-shoot most MBT's main guns in open terrain. But at the rate that our population is growing, I suspect many future engagements will be in urban area where inexpensive systems like the RPG-29 will cause more headaches to the tank crew. In the short 2006 Lebanon conflict, the Hezbollah mission-killed over 50 Israeli tanks. That's a better record than the Iraqi army!
