The Story of Why they started tracking Father Christmas dates back to 1955 When a Sear and Roebuc In Store in Colorado Springs, Co printed a Advertisement claiming to be a hotline directly to Santa's Workshop on December 24th. But there was a typo, The Number on the Ad ME2-6681 was not to the Sears Store hotline.... It was the Red Phone The National Command Phone that is supposed only connect the base command to the top of the national Command. that night children were calling the newly opened NORAD cheyenne Mountain Complex Combat information Center all night long. After Col Shoup who operated the line made a Child cry thinking it was some one pulling a prank he employed some military ingenuity smoothed it over and found himself fielding more calls as the Red Phone turned from Red Alert to Santa Red. The Col Directed his staff to assist as they began giving updates on Big Red's flight plan. As a chosen Hour He Called a local Radio station informing them that St. Nick's location was in Town.. Since then Santa Tracking is one of the US Government largest outreach programs every year thousands of Volunteers From the USAF, US Army, USN, USMC Canadian Armed forces and Civilians report for duty to field calls at the Santa Tracker Hotline 1-877-HI-NORAD

For all of those celebrating Christmas...a Blessed and Merry Christmas to you all as we remember and celebrate the birth and life of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and His atonement and salvation. May His love, His peace, His atonement, and His redemption fill you each as you seek Him out and take upon yourself His name.

For others...an equally happy and blessed Hanukkah, Ramadan, or whatever holiday you may celebrate at this time of year. May they bless your life and may love, joy and peace fill your homes and life.

And for all...a very Happy New Year and the best of the coming year for you and yours!
