Very true, the big question is whether it has enough capacity to load more than 36?

Perhaps by reducing fuel capacity for weight?

Well, in pure numbers of iron bombs, those comparisons hold. In other areas they do not.

For example the H-6K can carry six very effective ASMs/ALCMs (missiles). while a US B-52 can carry twenty, and the B-1B can carry twenty-four.

2 new H-6K in Huitong so now 49 identified, in 3 Rgts normaly one have 18.

Tu-16K as maritime missile carrier had full combat load slightly short of 12.5 tons.
Like this:

2x KSR-5 on wing stations and 1x K-10S conformal in bomb bay.

Interesting and nice but i don' t see Tu-16 in practice armed with 3 missiles even Tu-22M don' t do.

H-6 Bombs bay ! thinking 500 lbs.

All maximum external loads aren't very practical in peace time.
They don't improve safety record either.

Nevertheless - it was at least as practical as, say, fully overloaded Rafales.

More seems 18 bombs can fit inside so 1000 lbs do the load 9 tons...
