today. It was GREAT!

Lots of static displays. GREAT acrobatics from numerous aircraft including a P-51 Mustang, A P-63 King Cobra, a couple of excellent special acrobatic aircraft, F-15E Strike Eagles, and of course the two main attractions, the Wings of Blue USAF Parachute team, and the USAF Air demonstration team, the Thunderbirds, flying F-16 Falcons.

Here are some pictures...there are a LOT more at the link above which goes to my Flickr page. I have about 80 photos there.

great to see you Jeff :)

That F-35 picture is priceless, you are the first Sino Defense forum member to be up close and personal, and she looks so much better in person, I bet the boys won't forget this either. That is so KOOL!

I'll have you know I got closer than this to an F-35B back in july 2008 on the deck of HMS Illustrious in Portsmouth... admittedly it was a fibre glass mock up (the same one seen on the ramp of HMS Queen Elizabeth at her naming ceremony earlier this year), but a static plane is a static plane! Great pics btw;)

seeing the previous two posts ... I wonder if there's some Active Duty USAF/RAF taking part in the F-35 program, who is a silent SDF member :) ... perhaps not, anybody can anonymously follow for example the 'F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Thread'

These two aircraft were from a training squadron, the 61st Fighter Squadron from Luke AFB. the "Top Dogs."

They had armed security around the roped off area, and a couple of pilots and mechanics. I asked if they would let me and my grandsons in the roped area to get a pic right next to one...but that was a negative, LOL! I did buy one of their T-shirts and they gave me a signed picture of the F-35A with their squadron info on it. I will probably get it framed, hehehe.

Here are some videos of the Thunderbirds:

First, he roll-out and taxi to the take-off location of all six Thunderbirds:

Then, the take-off of the first four:

Then a flyby of the first four together:

Finally, a flyby of the other two, one inverted, tail to tail:

You sure have a lot of faith in that aircraft ;)
