The western Europeans were all excited with "Biden" and the "adult democrats" won the white house and was hoping for maybe early Obama era level of reasoning/diplomacy but they may now be realizing that US politics has drifted even further right (america first/maga)as a standard.
Well America has proven that it can provide energy , titanium, composites to Europe. Can Europe replace Asia as supplier goods to US at reasonable prices?. It is Europe thats not keeping its end of bargain. I am not going to into tech and all other security cooperation that Europe benefits. Ukraine is German war to keep Europe united for its benefit without giving much return for that unity. all others are acting at behest of Germany (when you see those Ukrainian asking things from Germany there tone is very demanding) . similar with France who pretend that they are not vassal but in reality they were German vassal. I think Arabs will prefer France become true American vassal and here you can see Macron desperation.

Actually, looking from another perspective, these leaks might confirm to be a lot of BS.

They have been saying weapons could be provided for a while now, but no evidence for months. Now this is the supposed “evidence”, but seemingly still just hearsay

China needs to be careful when working with Russia from now on. Seriously they are so unbelievably compromised by the US. considering this is info on the CMC, they must have gotten the info from a high level Russian official or something.

Notice how literally every leak is some Russian source. Might be worth assuming that everything told to Russia may be compromised at this point.
Why would you ever ever take a literal US government source at face value???

Nothing they've said there seems to hold even a grain of truth. Russia has not asked to buy arms, let alone begged for gibs. If they would do that, there is no barrier holding Xi from giving them the handouts they want.

If China wants to arm Russia with better weapons, it will do it the same way it arms any other country and the same way it conducts sales of more rudimentary equipment to Russia as they do right now.

You realize this is likely a complete fabrication? The US has been pushing that angle for a while now, and conveniently there's a "leak" that supports their narrative?

The more things change, the more things stay the same.

Before President Trump, the United States and Europe attitudes and policies towards China were more or less the same.

Since then, the United States has changed, but not the Europeans, in regards to their attitudes and policies towards China.

The last article reads like those movie scenes where someone is standing on a rug, and someone pulls that away.

Seems that the United States had deluded themselves that the Europeans were most definitely on the same side when it came to China, when the Europeans were most definitely were not.

European attitudes towards China, were always ambivalent. That has not changed.

What has changed are the Americans, who are no longer ambivalent in regards to China, but hostile.

Americans say to Europe, we need more hostility for China!

China say to Europe, let's do more deals!

The United States got to be real careful here. They could soon quickly find themselves on the wrong side history, if they are not already.

To be fair, Germany resisted escalation against China in the past. I wonder if the Germans were just being cautious as the last time they've partner up with an East Asian nation, they both got their asses kicked.

Regardless, economic reality is the main driver of politics. The rapid de-dollarization is gaining traction around the globe. All this would have been prevented if the Merchants of Death were put in their place.

Wouldn't Japan-US, South Korea-US, and Australia-US joint exercises be more relevant, in this case? I'm sure those countries won't get involved without the US being involved. Naval exercises with Taiwan are kind of useless because the Taiwanese are largely irrelevant as a naval power, analysts I've seen basically indicate their entire navy will be sunk on the first day of an attack.
Japan-US, SK-US, Australia-US practice Identification, friend or foe (IFF) to avoid friendly fire. Is there similar exercises between Japan-Taiwan, SK-Taiwan, and Aus-Taiwan with IFF in Taiwanese military? Do you expect Japanese troops to just show up alongside Taiwanese troops without a proper IFF system....Japanese would be shooting Taiwanese by accident.... Which is good and hilarious btw. Some basic mil-mil communication is necessary for basic joint-force operations, not everything can be coordinated by US on a last-minute ad-hoc basis, but refined through decades of joint-training.

Russian servicepeople themselves show the use of Chinese branded drones, armor, nvg, scopes, etc. So Washington has not discovered anything that can't be discovered with 3 seconds of google.

As for giving entire artillery pieces, fighter jets, apcs and so on its quite obvious why Russia would resist asking for those unless they're doing badly. Because they try to sell their versions of it to foreign customers, so if they're seen getting upgrades from China, most of their customers would just buy from China directly.

Arms companies in China are likely raring to send stuff to Ukraine but if Putin isn't pressured enough he will not open the floodgates. For Russia, the war is not just East vs West, but their performance will determine their standing in the east later as well.

Looks like corporate Germany had a stern conversation with her before her visit to China. It's going to be a long and hard road that has a high chance of failure, but a truly independent EU as a new pole would be a huge win for China. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. And the 5 eyes have a monopoly on salt and vinegar anyways, so it's not an option for China.

Poland is a backwater with no future. They can get on the right page of history or stay that way.
Am very curious to hear his take and views from our own esteemed forum member who happens to be of Polish descent if am not mistaken, namely, @MarKoz81 regarding the internal dynamics and politics of Poland that only a person who lives in Poland can intimately tell a perspective that's not afforded to most if not all of us on this forum.

The government is freezing any property or other assets McCaul, a Texas Republican Representative, may have in China and banning Chinese nationals and organizations from transacting with him, according to a statement from its foreign ministry Thursday.

This likely will have little impact on McCaul. If the PRC really wants to get serious with these sanctions, they should also ban any foreign firms associated with McCaul (including campaign donations by key employees, board members, and major shareholders) from doing business in China.
