U.S. Intel Helped India Rout China in 2022 Border Clash: Sources

A previously unreported act of intelligence-sharing prevented another deadly standoff in disputed Himalayan territory and rattled the Chinese government, sources say.

India was able to repel a Chinese military incursion in contested border territory in the high Himalayas late last year due to unprecedented intelligence-sharing with the U.S. military, U.S. News has learned, an act that caught China’s People’s Liberation Army forces off-guard, enraged Beijing and appears to have forced the Chinese Communist Party to reconsider its approach to land grabs along its borders.

The U.S. government for the first time provided real-time details to its Indian counterparts of the Chinese positions and force strength in advance of a PLA incursion, says a source familiar with a previously unreported U.S. intelligence review of the encounter into the Arunachal Pradesh region. The information included actionable satellite imagery and was more detailed and delivered more quickly than anything the U.S. had previously shared with the Indian military.

It made a difference.

The subsequent clash on Dec. 9 involving hundreds of troops wielding spiked clubs and Tasers did not result in any deaths as previous encounters have, rather it was limited to a dozen or so injuries and – most conspicuously – a Chinese retreat.

“They were waiting. And that’s because the U.S. had given India everything to be fully prepared for this,” the source says. “It demonstrates a test case of the success of how the two militaries are now cooperating and sharing intelligence.”

Several current and former analysts and officials, some speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed details of the encounter as well as the American role, to include unprecedented support the U.S. military provided to India on the ground – the fruits of a new era of cooperation between the two powers in recognition of their shared ambitions to push back on Chinese expansionism.

Oh look the 2 biggest known liars in the world are trying to tell a story together! LOL They're saying India totally won this fight and China got routed but definitely don't ask for evidence because this is the only conflict (possibly in human history) that involved hundreds of armed soldiers in which no one died or got injured nor is there any other proof of it happening... so don't ask but it totally happened though

This Xi-Putin meeting and it's results pretty much signals that Russia is to become a junior partner of China, China's Canada, and basically becoming (non-PR version) an economic colony.

Russia will become wealthy, now how that wealth will be distributed among its people, that's another matter. People might be tempted to say "Not China's problem!", but human psychology doesn't work like that. With this new arrangement, China should aim to encourage/push Russia towards a more equal distribution of wealth that what they have currently

The move of Russia to use mostly yuan in foreign trading is something that I never expected. And it really sounds like a junior partner. However, Xi must've promised some weapons, or weapons if the things turn sour for them in the Ukraine war.

Not China's Canada entirely. More like a hybrid of Canada, Australia and UK: nuclear armed, select domestic industries and products and a major power in its own right, but with the understanding that they will buy tools from China.

Did it come from the same source that claimed 48 PLA casualties during Galwan?

Raimondo? She the one who wanted to cripple Chinese tech?

yeah, she can keep waiting…

Really, the anglos have to take a page from history and start with creating the right conditions first; for example raimondo kowtowing to Xi the way the Japanese bows to the US secretary of defence and delivering Wilbur Ross, lighthizer, Navarro and Pompeo in chains to face Chinese justice.

It looks like depleted Uranium shells are indeed a red line and Putin spoke of it during the meeting with Xi Jinping. NATO wants to poison Eastern and Southern Ukraine like they poisoned Serbia and Iraq.

Putin: "UK announced not only the supply of tanks to Ukraine, but also depleted uranium shells. But I would like to note that if all this happens, Russia will have to react accordingly considering the west would be using a weapon with a nuclear component."
Anglos already research genetic select bioweapons targeting Slavs like their numerous bio weapons research facilities in former Soviet countries- they’re not going to be above using atomics to poison the genes of Slavs and Chinese.

now the anglos are trying to turn back time so they can stop themselves waking the dragon

Yes of course, economically Canada, security-wise UK.

At the moment, during this intense period of the US-China clash, China should smartly help Russia on military development/procurement. When the US-China clash ends (if we all survive by then), this assistance can be scaled back/eliminated.

Maybe cynical, but that's International Relations for you. It ain't a bad deal, Russia just has to accept that its strategic and diplomatic space is going to be narrower. On economics and tech, if Russia plays its hand well it could really become filthy rich. Just see how Canada and Australia swim in cash. The world could end and those type of countries would still make money like there is no tomorrow

Colonel Ajai Shukla has said that his sources have told him the clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers at Yangtse in the Tawang Sector of the eastern border on December 9 led to 35 Indian soldiers having sustained injuries, seven of whom he believes can be called ‘serious.’
In a 25-minute interview to Karan Thapar for The Wire, Col. Shukla, who is the Strategic Affairs Editor of the Business Standard, clearly contradicted the statement made by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in the Lok Sabha that there were no serious injuries.

Col. Shukla said that his sources have told him the 7 serious injuries have been evacuated to Guwahati.

Not even the Jai Hinds were trying to spin this into a victory when the news broke last December. Instead trying to play it down. Why is USNews trying to out Jai Hind the Jai Hinds? Ajai Shukla's source is consistent with Chinese sources, which reported broken limbs from the Indian side.

I guess South Africa will be doing some maneuvers this August when it holds the summit of BRICS. Putin will be there, SA failed to withdraw from ICC which just issued an arrest warrant on Putin. Of course South African government can just ignore it but it would still be embarrassing for the country. The good side of the ignoring is that it reduces ICC to nothing.

Then there will be Brazil.
