He's deeply involved in the establishment. Towards the end he state that he doesn't think Trump nor Biden will run for the 2024 election. I bet that's why the FBI raided Biden's house for classified documents, and they finally admitted the Biden laptop was real.

It'll be interesting to see if his prediction turns out to be true.

Now on pro-Taiwan TikTok videos, I can say: "US can't even shoot down a Chinese spy balloon, what makes you think they will shed blood for Taiwanese?" Let's see how triggered they get.

Indeed it was handled badly. I don't buy the claim that they didn't shoot it down due to fear of causing damage to ground personnel and installation. Montana has to be one of the most sparsely populated states in the U.S. There is like literally a million people spread out over a huge stretch of land. If you think that wreckage from a flimsy high altitude balloon could cause serious damage then I've got a bridge to sell to you.

They should at the very least have attempted a shoot down.

I thought the excuse "could cause damage on the ground" was pretty flimsy given it was over Montana. Perhaps the US is just not capable of shooting down this balloon.

To combat this sort of target the Soviet Union actually went to the trouble of designing a dedicated high altitude anti-aerostat interceptor called M-55 Geophysics. It ended up not been used for that role but it shows engaging this sort of target is not a trivial task.

Imagine USAF decide to go for it and they fire several AIM-120 or THAAD and miss? They'll be the laughing stock of the world.

My understanding so far is it's actually quite a tricky target to engage. It's flying so high that even if F-22 climb to its ceiling and release an AIM-120 the balloon is at just about the edge of the missile's capability.

It would be hilarious if under all that pressure Biden ends up ordering for it to be shot down, and they have to launch a THAAD interceptor to take it out.

If would be extra hilarious if AIM-120 or THAAD is used and misses, as I doubt that's the sort of target they were designed to engage.

When you put it this way, it sounds like China's new secret weapon. Imagine if China sends over millions of those things!
