Just post this video here for reference, not sure if what Fu Qian Shao said is correct or not. He said PLAAF has over 150 J20 as of now.

To address the numbers, there are probably slightly over 200 J-20s in service.

Second, and most importantly, he is not particularly reliable and is not worth listening to.

1. Minnie Chan
2. We already know about this (higher than expected production rate)
I wonder what kind of connection this gal has. She has written things proven to be both wrong and right. Yet, despite later-proven inaccuracies, she still remained the main PLA reporter for SCMP. I wonder what kind of family or other connections she has to keep reporting on the PLA. She could have ruined SCMP's reputation long ago. Yet, she is still here using her "internal sources."

I got a better explanation.

Accurate reporting on PLA development simply isn't a priority for SCMP and other MSMs in general. Therefore there is little correlation between "journalistic track record" and "being the main PLA reporter".

SCMP's standard of PLA watching consists of second/third hand rumors massaged into bright headlines for public consumption. Her "internal sources" might as well be the Magic Conch Shell.

It's better not to think too hard about it.

Even though I've seen many similar images before, I'm still a tad amazed by the size of the canards.

SCMP fundamentally is controlled by China.

The military is the most sensitive of all topics, and China will never permit a newspaper on its soil to publish detailed, accurate information about the PLA unless that information is already widely known to those in the field.

Imo it's pretty clear that Minnie Chan and the SCMP deliberately publish false, sensational reports on the PLA in order to mislead Western readers.

What? You realize SCMP is one of the very few so called "chinese media" outlet that was not flagged as china-gov-associated by twitter?
