The 3rd image shows the sight picture of the infrared sight. The 4th image shows the sight picture of the uncooled infrared thermal imager. The Weibo poster reported that the cooled thermal imager has a detection range as high as 10 km.

Yes. The U means Unmanned, but in this case optionally unmanned. Not only Guancha, other commentators visiting the Expo are reporting similar thing. VT4A1, improved armor (reported so), able to lunch drone (loiter grenade from the looks of it) and APS. VT5-U, optionally unmanned version of VT-5.

With that confirmed unofficially, is there any clue to what degree it can become "unmanned"? I'd imagine it's minimal to expect that the tank can drive through certain terrains by itself. Beyond that, can it engage, like hunt and kill, enemies in distance, for example?

It's a beast of a thing. They describe it as not really selling a radar but a whole infrastructure project if you want to buy this. This isn't just for tracking stealth aircraft but would have application in tracking low earth orbit objects or incoming ballistic missiles as part of a national missile defense setup.
