More like Vietnamese is Indians of East Asians. It's their perceived all conquering victories against the Mongols; the Imperial Japanese; the Frenchthe, Americans, and finally, the Chinese. Some of these folks are more bitter or more proud of the supposed fact of beating the Chinese during the Sino-Vietnamese war of 1979. Check their comments on YouTube whenever there is a discussion on that conflict the comments are filled with Jai Hinds, and Vietnamese folks ganging up on anyone that dare to insert some context or objectivity on the Sino-Vietnamese war. For them it's pretty simple: Vietnamese kick ass, China loser.

Bro, did the older generations (parents of millenials, gen z) loosened the grip on their childs moral education?

Or is the fact that since anglo is the public language it is such a strong pull factor for " i hate myself and all asians because we are not white, but by hating myself and my fellow kin, i become honorary white" ?

The losers hate themselves because they didn't want to study really hard or be expected to take care of their folks a.k.a. bound by tradition. They want to live a supposed more care free lives just like the idolized lifestyles of the western folks. Only realizing when they're all past expirations that they really don't want to be disposed to a nursing home or seniors facility to be visited once in a blue moon waiting for death to come.

I can only express from my own experience that this is what made me want to adopt white culture because it did give me a sense of Liberation because I felt when I was younger that our culture was too suffocating, stifling, rigid, and burdensome. Plus, I want to be with as many western girls for hedonistic reasons since women from traditional backgrounds are prudes etc...I didn't want to be told when to come home, be reminded of my duties, responsibilities not only to myself but to my younger siblings, and my parents.

Life has a funny way of showing how stupid and wrong I was, and how the life I lived has taught me the value of family, culture, history, and the sense of belonging. The more I tried to do and did western hedonistic lifestyle the less content I was, the angrier I became and saw women and relationships but nothing as meaningless charade. Anyway, my experience isn't the same for every self-hating Asians/Chinese but these were my experiences and what motivated me can be boiled down to SELFISHNESS.

I mean that ABCs in the west, being the minority, tend to band together with other ABCs and view society in an 'us vs them' sense. That is, their worldview tends to be more stratified along the lines of ethnicity rather than citizenship or nationality. Hence why they are more supportive of China, because there is a shared ethnic heritage there.

Hardwarezone is the embodiment of the average sub 35 year old Singaporean. A very unpleasant and unlikeable individual in general. East Asian societies tend to be materialistic, competitive, and resemble a rat race. However, PRC, Taiwanese, Koreans and Japanese are generally still happy to see their peers succeed, and in China, it is common to give back generously to your home village if you get rich.

Singapore stands out in this regard - to an average Singaporean, it's not enough that he or she succeeds - everyone else around them must fail too. What bothers me is how the young viets (east asians in general) are snuggling up to daddy america, like cmon they raped your daughters, killed millions of your kin, dropped chemical weapons on you and you still have miss births from that, mined the shit out of you, so that every week somebody loses his foot. They consider you and your kin as "yellow swine", with their white freaks going for sextourism in your countries raping your precious daughters for worthless dollars, primitively seeking your youngest girls, still some east asians love to suck muricas pp...

I think you are bit too harsh on yourself. Western culture is more attractive than all other living cultures for many reasons, material or conceptual or societal or environmental. Chinese culture is not all enlightened. When I was in college (China), I actually read the bible (a forbidden book) before I read Buddhism or Daoism or Confucianism. But I did not read bible again in the US even though I have lived here longer. I watched Top Gun gazillions of time before. But I no longer have the stomach to watch super hero movies any more. People grow and evolve under circumstances. One thing about the Chinese culture I cherish the most is that, it is not doctrinal or religious, rather it is more philosophical. Surprisingly, I suffered less brainwash in China than in US. Popular cultures all have certain degrees of brainwash. An ABC can easily form a sense of inferiority in grade schools here. Some of them are capable of getting out of cultural traps as they mature. Others are not. Life is complicated and life is hard and life is not fair. Not everyone has a chance to grow and evolve normally. To this point, I really feel sorry for the people of Ukraine, all of them, regardless of their background or lineage. A beautiful country, a beautiful people, an abundant piece of land. All gone now.
