There is no doubt if Putin succeeds in permanently preventing NATO from absorbing Ukraine, then the worst the west can do to Russia in retaliation will pale in comparison to the value of the long term loss of Russia strategic autonomy the war over Ukraine forestalled. So further acts of spite by the US is merely the self-indulgent fool’s way of getting transient satisfaction from an unthinking sense of doing something by throwing good money after the bad.

What’s the Russian plan? I believe they’re going to assault Kiev, Kharkiv, and Nikolaev -> Odessa. This will give them access to all the land East of the Dnieper and a Southern corridor to cut Ukraine off from the Black Sea and connects Russia to Transinitria. After that, if they’re successful, I guess it’s either annexation or creating a vassal state.

Russia was and is not a country that can be completely conquered, even the part west of the Ural

The Mongols conquered all of Russia, and they did it very easily.

Every single Rus principality surrendered to the Horde.

That 1st wave of the unified Mongol Horde was able to accomplish this (and all their other victories in Eurasia) because they were literally 700 years ahead of their time. WWII theorists were specifically trying to emulate Mongolian-style combined arms maneuver warfare, and they didn't even come close, even with radios. In fact, no military has come anywhere close to this day:

"Its maneuver warfare fundamentals had been followed over 700 years earlier by Genghis Khan and his Mongol “hordes.” Genghis Khan and his armies accomplished feats that would be hard, if not impossible, for modern armies to duplicate."

@Mohsin77 bro the Russian copy the Mongols strategy with a twist, they did it humanely, the Mongols of old will ransack and kill those who oppose them while the Russian of today create a corridor for them to leave. ;)

The Mongols were expert falconers. They trained their falcons to detect enemy formations and point their troops towards them.
They also had way better weapons and equipment than most nations in Europe back then. Plus people who actually actively trained with them.
Their horses could also graze grass to eat. Much better than using oil as fuel.

The Mongols would also leave 'corridors' for the enemy to escape... but then they would chase down the disorganized fleeing forces and finish them off (13th century equivalent of the 'Highway of Death.')
