From the Chinese readout, not much different from Wang Yi's conference. Putting "sovereignty and territorial integrity" and UN Charter before "legitimate security concerns" in the list of things to be respected.

People on this thread were discussing Ukrainian recognition of Crimea annexation or Donbas independence. I always thought such terms will be diffcult for Beijing to endorse. I still think the ideal solution from China's perspective is for Ukraine to commit to not joining NATO and leave the status of Crimea and Donbas undecided. China's fine with de facto Russian control but not de jure independence.

The typical self-righteous American perception:

The US started this mess 8 years ago and now people like that guy wants to "rescue" Ukraine. These people have been brainwashed/conditioned into oblivion. IMHO: The US has seized being a solution and started becoming a problem.

Another day without much action on the ground. There seems to be a pause for negotiations for humanitarian corridors.

One thing that's strange is the Poland MiG situation. Last week Poland were ready to send MiG-29s to Ukraine, it took being threatened by nuclear war by Russia for America to back down in the last hour.

Just one week later we've got the exact reverse. Now Blinken is claiming Poland have American permission to send Migs and Poland is refusing. Bearing in mind Poland has one of the most anti-Russian populations in Europe, and is the eastern block country that needs these ex Soviet jets the least. With the F-16s they have and F-35s coming in they'll all be mothballed in a few years. What's changed in a week?

I suspect after days of being badgered by Poles to declare war on Russia, American officials have told Poland they are free to help Ukraine in any way they choose, but they won't be able to trigger article 5 if Russia retaliates, including a tactical nuclear attack.

didn't you know that people buy from China for the privilege of using SWIFT? Everyone loves SWIFT so much they'd rather have it than... heat. or electricity. or food. or clothes. or doing anything.
Little Marco Rubio is simply putting this charade out there as his meal ticket for the upcoming 2024 Presidential ticket. This piece of propaganda nonsense is his way of telling the Republican sheeps that he's but one of the few serious GOP candidates that have done or is doing something against a far more menacing, and paying threat to the American way of life, which is China. All of this political noise are political posturing, just as the new spokesperson for Subway skinny Pompeo, and one of the potential GOP Presidential candidates, has recently exhibited by his visit to Taiwan and his usual let Taiwan free (for a handsome fee of $150,000) bluster.
