Right, if the desire for a twin seater is the battle management/command and control capabilities, then that is reasonable... Though I must say I am not yet sure what the future of MUMT and loyal wingmen UAVs will look like for carrier aviation.

A big reason why MUMT/loyal wingmen make sense for land based air forces is the ability to employ and recover relatively large numbers of UAVs at conventional airbases.

I am not sure how that will translate for carrier aviation as I believe the carrier flight deck and hangar may produce lower limits for the scale/size of UAV formations they can generate.
I suspect the rumoured EM catapult equipped 076 might have something to do with using UAVs at sea.

Yes the 076 is certainly expected to have UAVs as a primary part of its airwing, but it is important to recall that it is unlikely to have the speed to keep up with a carrier -- and more importantly, even the 076 is unlikely to have the deck space to accommodate the number of UAVs that we may see in the future as part of large scale MUMT, certainly I think it would be on a different scale to what land air bases can generate.

That said, it's still early days as to what the most beneficial and effective ratio of manned fighters to UAVs will end up being long term, so who knows.

One could add slightly different looking landing gear and possibly larger horizontal tails as well. Among other probable differences that we are yet to discover.

It would completely different landing gear (as a known divergence even before photographic evidence)…

the real surprise to me is the new shaping / bulking immediately aft of the cockpit (as well as changes to the canopy itself)

It 100% does, but it's a straight deck LHD in the end.

Carriers, on the other hand, are primary platforms for operating fixed-wing jet assets at sea. The presence of humans onboard is of secondary importance.

it's fairly logical, to be fair.

Since we're just listing stuff, also the panel right beneath the cockpit, whose shape and position is similar to the panel hiding the build in ladder on F-35. Very likely the new plane also has a built in ladder underneath that cover.

For 076, we don't know what kind of configuration it will actually have.

We expect EM catapults and arresting gear -- there's a good chance it may have an angled flight deck.

Agree with the rest though, and also in general my point about the logic of operating large fleets of UAVs and loyal wingmen drones from naval aviation platforms remains.
