Remember when I said why the US is finding it so easy to spread anti Belt & Road propaganda in Africa and the rest of the world ? this editorial from Kenya's biggest business paper could as well have been lifted from my last week's comment .
(for a moment forget about the intention of 'study' from College of William & Mary that was funded by the US government ) .

I hope that in future China will move from these ultra secretive contracts to concessional loans

I wish there was a non-Western research. A more impartial organization, like an African one, would have been better.

The intention of the study is obviously to propagandize and generate talking points but the concerns are real .An impartial study would still raise the same concerns .

What are the terms of these loans ? that's all

The issue is that the Africans working there would most likely be Western educated with the whole "human rights" brainwashing that comes with this "education"

^^This is the biggest issue. Obviously the public doesn't like things that are behind the scenes because it is (rightly) suspicious that the country leaders are all corrupt

Dont ask me why, I dont know why the Gov insists on keeping the contract terms behind closed doors.
IMO it might have something to do with these countries not realistically able pay up the debt that China demanded collateral if not repaid. Obviously that collateral would be a political bomb if revealed, it could include ports, mines, land, resources etc.
