Pompeo did find a small far right think tank and got himself an analyst job. If I remember correctly he's getting paid 100K a year.
It was 80k, and compared to the millions he would have otherwise received...it's quite a crippling blow.

Small wonder the EU came down hard when China counter sanctioned them. That's their retirement plan gone up in smoke!!

Yes because obviously I am bot a CEO of a big company or whatever. However, the bigger your business, the bigger the bribe. I would suggest you to make similar visits to better gasp the ground realities in these countries

The corruption is getting perfected there. Depending on your income, you pay more for bribes. You have small business, small bribes. Big business, big bribes.

IMO as long a country is a "developing country" it is bound to have such corruption issues. Look no further than China, where until Xi started his anti-corruption campaign, China was full of similar issues about bribes

So basically, you're saying you need to bribe if you want to do business in the developing countries. So you do at your own risk, right? That's different from saying it is the right thing to do or should be encouraged, even less so for large public projects like building subways. China would have no problem in winning a disproportionate share of big infrastructural projects if everyone plays fair and a fair system should be encouraged.

LOL, seems like you don't really understand what corruption is.

Let me put it this way: capitalists need political influence to expand. Corruption is the way capitalists gain this political influence. Ergo, corruption is an integral part of Capitalism.

When can a society tackle corruption? When it starts to transition from Capitalism into Socialism.

LOL what?? You are conflating corruption with politics. Haven't heard of corruption in China? Where have you been hiding? Or pretending? Why so hypocritical?

Lol doesn't DJI have special dispensation for purchase by Pentagon because it's just TOO DAMN GOOD?

In fact I recall in 2020 the US had a lot of forest fires because the relevant government department couldn't buy any more DJI drone and so their ability to monitor forest fire decreased which lead to the fires?
Yeah they are basically openly admitting it's far superior to any alternatives and no other options but to keep buying them. coming from very anti China source, the military organization of US, it's saying something lol

Obviously Chinese businesses and the Gov dont like to deal to deal with corruption in these countries. However thats how the things work there. China doesn't like it, but it cannot just abandon these markets, so it has to hold its nose and do business. Thats the reality of doing business in poor developing countries.

In recent years, progress has been made for combating such things by strengthening Chinese law and enforcement but, quite obviously, Chinese investigators cannot reach inside another another country and do their own investigation (big no-no, gives the appearance of disregarding their sovereignty)

What it can do is, to have its ambassadors on the ground to respond quickly to host countries reports about corruption by Chinese companies working there.

A similar thing happened in Kenya where, authorities/orgs alerted the Chinese ambassador to the wrong doing of some Chinese mining companies. China responded very fast and immediately ordered a complete recall of these companies back to China, for investigation and trial on court. CEOs and other top managers are going to be in big trouble now.

As I see you are interested in this topic, I would advice you to wait for the FOCAC 2021 forum between China and African countries which will happen in a few months. I expect that lot of new developments and initiatives will be announced there. Just something to keep an eye wrt China-Africa relations
