I always wondered how come many incompetent children of bureaucrats managed admission into Harvard, Yale etc. This makes sense.

Can’t speak for other countries, but I would think it massive and obvious red flag to MSS if the children of officials with a consistent record of poor or middling academic performance in Chinese schools suddenly got a place at a top US university. That would be an obvious hint at corruption and/or betrayal.

The 4 most common things are called MICE. Money, Ideology, Compromise and Ego. However it’s stupid to become an ‘asset’ for any intelligence domestic, foreign, CIA or MSS because you are almost always expendable. More so if you are operating undercover or abroad because you entirely surrender control to them and no one else but your handler knows so you must rely upon their protection.

It has been know now for years the US ivy league schools have the option to buy a degree, if the parents are willing to make a donation big enough. So you get the change to network and the prestige of having a Ivy League degree.

Indeed, but the price for such ‘privilege’ is orders or magnitudes greater than what even the highest earning official in China should be able to afford. If they can afford that then they have all their fingers in the cookie jar.

Why is DW still allowed in China? Just watch this "documentary" for China. It's basically a full propaganda attack against China. Throw them out, and have Germany to take back this garbage "news". Also start decoupling from Germany. DW is basically a state-owned media, so that they keep these propaganda attacks means that they are not friendly

Here are some examples of this "documentary":

China spying its population with cameras
TikTok sending data to China scare bs
Social Credit system bs
Xiaomi scandal about sending mysterious data to China bs
Xinjiang Uighurs oppression bs,
Mysterious/horror music on the video
Showing sad faces on the video
Blurry scenes: check
Shaking camera: check lol

"We cannot independently verify the claims" but keeps talking about them for half the video

Prison Camps bs
"Million people disappeared in internment camps" bs
"Forced women to take an unknown substance" "Women then didnt have period or they were heavily bleeding" bs lol
A crying woman with shaking voice (nice emotional propaganda) bs
Hit jobs on Chinese technology companies

Screw DW and screw Germany

Have you considered that this reaction is precisely what they true masters of DW news, the CIA wants?

They don’t (yet) have the kind of state capture to get the German government to do their bidding, so they use useful idiots and assets like DW to try to poison relations between China and Germany.

The German government probably also knows what is going on, but is hamstrung by western ‘free speech’ bullshit.

But whats the solution? The DW is widely watched in Germany, and its "documentaries" are popular in EU and other countries.

These kind of "documebtaries" deal a lot of soft power damage and China allowing them to the country gives them credibility. "See? We were walking outside this prison camp and the police blocked us from going any further"

Whats the solution, because either way, DW is turning the public against China, even if China lets them do whatever they want

Looks like it you who has been selectively picking quotes. Again I said INITIAL quote and you picked a second quite where I was correcting a sentence on my initial quote.

Here it is again in case you don’t understand the definition of “initial”.

So as in my Initial quote I specifically said the main issue is not stoping corruption but also messaging and media in Africa. And you harped on only the first sentence. What a hypocrite.

So in other words, you're conceding that your claim about Xi being able to prevent Chinese companies from bribing foreign officials is utter nonsense.

Glad we agree.

Are you just repeating stuff that I said? I mentioned it was retaliation against Indian fake news and you just repeated it. Fighting defamation IS effective PR in IR! Many Indians know Galwan and the pictures certainly affects them. Why don’t you answer the question, what would you have done if you didn’t think it was successful?

LOL, aren't you the one claiming China sucks at PR and that CGTN should be more like RT?

Why are you solely seizing on the Galwan video being "successful PR"? We could argue round and round about it being PR or not, but that's really irrelevant. What happened to your claim that China needs to change it's message?

Is the Galwan video some kind of "new tactic" to you? China told Indian officials they had more videos and would release them if necessary. Are you under the impression that following up on warnings is something new for the Chinese government? ROFL!
