Yes but these actions are useless in gaining China any strategic benefits.

Now if you are talking about having better people-to-people relations then sure, why not. I was talking more about Chinese national strategic interests, which means that as long as Japan is a vassal to the US then nothing will fundamentally change (strategically).

Currently there is only 1 thing that binds Japan closer to China and it definetely isnt people-to-people relations, it is business. People-to-people are good for the common people (masses) but it doesn't change much for the Security establishment
Huh? I think you are barking the wrong tree. I'm not suggesting cultural ambassadors or beloved Japanese table tennis players as the ONLY way to bring the two people together or solve strategic rekationships. obviously it's not enough, my post wasnt even directed at any of your posts. It's towards sunlit and Hendricks post which are about using interaction between young people of the two countries, to understand each other cultures better and cultivate friendships as one way to improve the situation.

I'm not even contradicting any of your posts in the first place, Seriously, again I'm NOT saying people to people interaction like what me and Hendrick suggest will magically solve the Japan US China triangle.

Because the Japanese media brainwashed them before the internet since their source of information come from Newspaper, TV, etc though some of them like Asahi shimbun is china friendly. But most of them are run by right wing. So the middle age tend to be anti China. But I notice the younger generation is a bit more savvy and they get their info from their counterpart who either went to school in China or live and work in China. Or they travel for vacation to China . Judging from their comment they now have healthy respect for young Chinese One comment said we need to learn from the Chinese because they are hungry meaning hungry for success!
This guy study in Jiaotong Univ Shanghai. the interviewee is bright young women learn Japanese by herself!
This is one way of person to person interaction. Cultural ambassadors with huge popularity and media presence is another. Lol OK I just realized you even liked the above post. Maybe I'm misunderstood or something. Anyway this argument is silly to begin with. We are not even disagreeing on same thing.

Not want to be rude but i hope kneeling guy don't need go through 4-5 year in top ten university of Korean to enough qualify to do his job.

He probably did, he's an aide/assistant to the deputy justice minister (the dude giving the speech/press conference).

Don't be surprise though, over 70% of Korean kids goes to university, after graduation most of them end up making coffee or fried chicken. The lucky few makes it into one of the chaebols or work for the government (like our friend on his knees).

How is that possible? Isn't South Korea a developed economy with fast growth and terrible demographics? How can such a nation have an oversupply of university graduates?

When Chinese love their country more is called nationalism but when the Westerners love their countries more is called patriotism.

Nationalism my ass, in China you won't see Westerners getting beaten up, while in the West (especially in Anglo countries) you see Asians getting attacked frequently.

The real truth behind many stupid articles like these is that Westerners are seeing their privileges in China fade away, so they can only use their shitty press to bitch, moan and continue to blame all their problems on China and its government.

Ah ok then, apologies.I misread it, i thought you were implying that people-to-people was the only way

Anyway i agree with yoy that people-to-people is important for the common people to form an understanding for each other's culture

In phone conversation, Wang says coordination between China and the US over Afghanistan would depend on Washington’s policies towards Beijing in other areas

I think this is as clear as it gets. Zhao had already said before, that the "cooperate, compete, confront" mantra of Washington towards Beijing wouldnt apply to China. He said that even on purely cooperative matters, China wouldn't do anything unless the US dropped its confrontational actions and behaviour. Even in Climate Change, there wont be much (if at all) cooperation

No more free lunch from China towards the US.
