My heart yearns for a Soviet-style collapse, involving the toppling of the Chinese Communist Party and independence for Tibet and East Turkestan (which is called Xinjiang, or New Frontier, in Chinese). But Xi Jinping’s leadership bears no comparison with the Soviet Union in its dotage. And regime change in China typically involves tens of millions of dead. Would we avoid that? And how would we make it happen?

And you wonder why Osama was also widely acclaimed a hero by a large chunk of the worlds oppressed.

Actually the article is quite entertaining to read. I would characterize it as "desperately in search of a solution, but hopeless in conclusion." Don't agree? Read on:

First, define the bigger threat/challenge:
The Chinese Communist Party has explicit ambitions for global domination and pursues them credibly, with rapid economic growth, burgeoning soft power, and effective political leadership.

Yet it is hard to imagine a victory over China/CPP:
The problem here is that we do not know what victory looks like in the struggle against the Chinese Communist Party.

For Russia or Soviet Union, the solution is relatively straightforward and easy. But the same won't work against China:
With Russia... The combination of higher military spending, greater resilience, closer security cooperation, and better threat awareness means that we are well on the way to safety. ... We squeezed the Soviet Union by hiking defense spending and crashing the oil price. Forcing China into bankruptcy seems impossible.

Maybe something more threatening?
Maybe NATO-style containment is the answer. But we don’t have NATO-style allies. Are we aiming for Article 5 alliances with communist Vietnam? With fractious Indonesia? With the Philippines?

It's frustrating and bad, man. That's the conclusion:
The bleak truth is that China (for all its problems) is rising, while we are floundering. Defeat is visible, while victory is not. That’s bad.

Just more signs of the crumbling regime.

The Anglo cannon fodder, Australia is being sent forth to trial a "Magnitsky" style sanctions law targeting Chinese officials.

Cry me a river, talk shit, get hit. If Israel wants to get americans to criminalise israeli boycotts, i see no reason why China shouldn't bring the pain if people want to shit on China.

How can India ever hope, and dream to becoming super duper power India when this is an everyday occurrence?:

The alleged gang-rape, murder, and burning of a nine-year-old girl in New Delhi has prompted angry protests in India.

The girl was sent by her mother to fetch water from a nearby crematorium on Sunday evening. However, she found her child’s lifeless and beaten body an hour later on the crematorium floor.

She was found with wet clothes, a bloodied nose, bruised hands and arms, and blue lips.
A Hindu priest and three accomplices have been accused of raping, killing, and forcibly cremating the nine-year-old girl.

The mother told the BBC that the suspects prevented her from taking the child’s body away and forcibly cremated her. By the time her father and around 150 villagers put out the pyre, they could only save her legs, making proof of rape improbable.

The horror has sparked widespread fury, with protesters this week burning effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accusing him of failing to condemn the alleged rape.

The girl was a member of the Dalit class, formerly known as the ‘untouchables’, and made a living begging. Members of the Dalit community have branded the incident a 'caste crime' because the accused priest is an upper-caste Brahmin.

I know the west is numb to the predations of catholic priests and churchmen but just how common is it coming from so called brahmin holy men of the glorious spiritual land of Incredible India?

Looking at India, this is a glaring societal problem indeed:

I found a comment from Reddit which explained the situation:
"Did nobody read the article? (or a translated version?)

He was enrolled in the Chinese department and was studying China. He also had a Chinese scholarship.

Went there in 2018 and even has a Chinese girlfriend living in Wuhan.

He studied subjects critical of the Chinese government and was discouraged but allowed to continue. Which is kind of surprising that the Chinese government would give scholarships to someone critical of them and extend that scholarship twice to 3 years in total.

He then felt the need to publicly start criticizing it on Twitter. His girlfriend called him and asked him to stop because she was afraid for her family. He ignored her and continued.

Finally, he posted a "cartoon in response to another user's tweet. It shows a cartoon character that has been modified and has stereotypical Chinese features: yellow skin tone, slit eyes."

That was the moment his scholarship was canceled.

In an ideal world, people should be able to bite the hand that feeds them but considering his unwavering criticism, color me unsurprised."
As always, more misinformation like how the MSM called an anonymous French journalist 'fake' because they criticized anti-China elements in the media, or how a Chinese spymaster 'defected' to the US.

Africa will enter the 1st world way before India advances into the 2nd, if ever.

Thank God for the caste system + hinduism + democracy, an absolutely unbeatable winning combination......................... for China is that.
