There is a 2nd core module which was built in case anything happened to the first.

might be wise to hold it in reserve. The manned space station can still fail or be seriously damaged.

NASA estimated ISS has 2% chance of being seriously damaged or destroyed by space junk every 10 years.

The spare core module can still be used as the core of a new independent station once the current station approaches the end its life expectancy.

Not really, after at least 15 years of life span they will build more modern and advanced station after that, not gonna back to old design. This is just 1st step, every other will be more and more ambitious and advanced...

Just because the overall construct is more ambitious or more advanced, that doesn’t mean perfectly good parts from a decade or so before cannot be profitable a employed

Yang fell out of political favor for who knows what reason, but he wasn't purged either. Instead of Yang, Jing Haipeng received the high profile 8.1 medal then transferred to PLA Army, no longer an astronaut. But Yang still receive training.

I think there is no need to resort to conspiracy theories. It is perfectly possible that while he was the best candidate for solo mission, he was simply not the best candidate for a multi person mission. In the Air Force, it has long been known best pilots for single seat aircraftHave a different psychological profile the best pilots for multi seed aircraft.

the “right stuff” for a test pilot, which is what a solo astronaut flying a new capsule for the first time is, is not the right stuff for a multi person crew who must get alone ans collaborate effectively during a protracted mission

It's not conspiracy theory but reasonable guess. He was promoted to Director, then quickly replaced less than 3 months later. There was no way this could be a normal move. I think it's a demotion, but of course CCP will never tell the truth, he was still kind of protected due to his status. Then came Jing Haipeng awarded first batch of 8.1 medal. Come on, it couldn't be more obvious.
