JIUQUAN, April 30 (Xinhua) -- China successfully sent a new remote sensing satellite, Yaogan-34, into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China at 3:27 p.m. Friday (Beijing Time).

The Yaogan-34 satellite was carried by a Long March-4C rocket and successfully entered its planned orbit.

The optical remote sensing satellite will be used for the survey of land resources, urban planning, the confirmation of land rights, road network design, crop yield estimation, and disaster prevention and reduction. It will also provide information services for the construction of the Belt and Road.

Never did like the term spy satellite.
How abut aerial surveillance sound more sophisticated Anyway interview with Chief Eng He confirm Solar panel efficiency of 30% Wow it quite high. considering average IC engine is around the same number efficiency, Also he confirm China space station will have ion thruster. There is no doubt that China space station will have newer technology than ISS after all there is a gap of 20 years between CSS and ISS a lot of new technology was invented in between.

China's space station will be equipped with an ion propulsion system that will greatly improve energy efficiency, according to Zhou Jianping, chief designer of the country's manned space engineering office.

YG-34 (first of a second generation of optical maritime surveillance sat that combines a wide swath and a high resolution) is co-orbital with ELINT YG-31 Group 2 (PLA second generation of naval ocean surveillance sat system). Probably for precise and cross-identification of targets at the same, giving a system for comprehensive monitoring of a potential enemy's fleet.
